This build is based on the newer ImpulseRC Apex Evo frame with an older vista / polar starlight camera I built for night flying at Rampage.
This turned out to be one of the lighter quads I've built using HD, but knowing what I now do about the frame's camera mounting methodology, I recommend going straight to an O3 air unit because depending on the camera you decide to go with, there is a good chance the lens will stick out beyond the aluminum standoffs which are slanted backwards now. Obviously, that's less than ideal. And I had the camera pushed back as far as I could.
I went with a fettec stack, 45 amp esc, G4 1.7N FC with some VCI motors 2306 1850kvs.
I use the Action 2, so I used the mount I got from Woodchuck. I'm running the skids with two steel screws running opposite one another to save weight, and I was surprised to see that it came in at 634.5 g, not bad!
I think it makes for a great beginner fpv drone build since it's quite simple to piece together. I made a post about it on my site which goes into a little more detail here
Are you guys enjoying that frame or something else? What would you do better or differently?
