FatShark Attitude V6 Goggles
#1
FatShark are releasing a new set of goggles in their Attitude range which will be the V6. Not much are known about these yet except the following:-
  • Shell Form Factor: FatShark Dominator moulding
  • Screen Technology: LCOS (compared to OLED screens on the V5)
  • IPD Range: Adjustable 59mm-69mm
  • Diopters: Built-in adjustable focus as per the HDO2's
  • Aspect Ratio: Switchable 16:9 and 4:3 format (compared to the odd 16:10 aspect ratio on the V5)
  • Resolution: 1280 x 960 (compared to 640 x 400 on the V5)
  • FOV: 39 degrees (compared to 30 degrees on the V5)
  • Connectivity: HDMI Input (the Attitude V5 didn't have this)
  • DVR: Integrated Analogue DVR (probably still just the usual low quality FatShark DVR as per all their other slim goggles)
  • Power Button: Yes
  • Price: $349 (USD)
If and when more information comes to light I will add it to this thread.

LCOS is a step back compared to OLED. I wonder if you will get a better FOV.

If the FOV is big and it isn't too over priced then I might consider that as an upgrade option. (see goggle poll 2020 thread for more info). OLED doesn't really matter to me that much so hopefully a good way to get more FOV and lower the price.

I can only imagine that the FOV and resolution have to be better. I agree with you HiThere.

I believe the reason for using LCOS screens is mainly to reduce cost. There's a lot of choice in the budget slimline goggle category so they are probably trying to be more competitive with pricing.

I've made a couple of updates made of the specs in the first post to reflect the following:-
  • The Attitude V6 now uses the same shells as the dominator line of goggles (HD2, HD3, HDO, HDO2 etc.) which means more common compatibility with modules and other peripherals that fit the higher priced dominator line of goggles.
  • There is now an HDMI input socket on the Attitude V6 which was missing on the V5's, so the V6's can be more easily used with simulators and other external devices which output an HDMI signal.

Yes, what a coincidence Big Grin

A new budget FatShark goggle appears at the same time that Shark Byte is released, which is now compatible with Shark Byte Whistling I guess FS realised they made a booboo by not putting an HDMI input on the V5's. I actually wonder if the V6's are just HDO2's with different screens (as in the exact same electronic and mechanical internals). I guess we'll find out when someone who does teardowns gets hold of a pair.

First post now updated with the price. It looks like the price of the FatShark Attitude V6 goggles is likely going to be around the 420 USD mark.

Fatshark Attitude V6 has to offer something really good. In my opinion, Fatshark Attitude V5 has lack of some important features such as HDMI in and proper screen ratio. If V6 comes with all the features that are not in V5 plus new features, It would be an good choice for those who want a set of high quality and featured goggle.

I mean HDO2 are only $499 so for the extra $80 not sure why someone wouldn't buy them. This goggle is a mid range goggle with a premium goggle price. May as well go with a premium goggle like the HDO2!

The Attitude V6 looks like it probably comes with the same receiver as the V5.  The HDO2 is $499 with NO RECEIVER - so that would make the difference in price more like $200-230 depending on what Rx you buy for the HDO2.

Saw this when searching up "Fatshark Attitude v6":

Although when clicking on it, you get an error 404. Possibly a leak to FOV information?

Good find. It was actually another Australian vendor who leaked the price Big Grin

EDIT: I've now added the resolution and FOV to the first post.
