Internal XJT module has also 2.1.0. version of ACCST firmware ( just reflashed ) but when I look in the last screen in Taranis version´s menu, in "Module version and RX" - the internal module - "no info". Is it normal? • Posts: 21,271 Threads: 587 Likes Received: 8,970 in 6,638 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 788 I didn't think it was possible to see information about the internal XJT module and the firmware version installed on it. I don't see that info on my X9D+ so maybe it's only available on the X-Lite. Can you tell me how you get to that screen from the home screen (button sequence, menu options etc.) and maybe a photo of the screen. • Posts: 122 Threads: 9 Likes Received: 6 in 6 posts Likes Given: 22 Joined: Apr 2020 Reputation: 1 21-Apr-2020, 11:47 AM (This post was last modified: 21-Apr-2020, 11:56 AM by ericz.) Images here - https://imgur.com/PI4max4 I holt the joy to the left until I get to the system menu settings and this is the last screen. • Posts: 21,271 Threads: 587 Likes Received: 8,970 in 6,638 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 788 OK, I don't get the option to view module version and RX info on my X9D+ so maybe that's an X-Lite feature only. I don't believe the version information for the internal XJT module can be retrieved anyway, in the same way it that you have no way of finding out what firmware is installed on any of the ACCST FrSky receivers, so that option might be for other external modules like the R9 Lite and R9 Pro. The fact that you have "no info" displayed is therefore likely to be normal. • Posts: 122 Threads: 9 Likes Received: 6 in 6 posts Likes Given: 22 Joined: Apr 2020 Reputation: 1 I think it´s normal, on my QX7 the version was invisible to... I don´t know what next, should I order a new FC for testing? Am I an idiot ho bricked 2 RXSR? • Posts: 21,271 Threads: 587 Likes Received: 8,970 in 6,638 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 788 21-Apr-2020, 12:43 PM (This post was last modified: 21-Apr-2020, 12:44 PM by SnowLeopardFPV.) Do you still have your old QX7 or did you sell it? If you still have it, try re-flashing the R-XSR using that. TBH, I would completely avoid the ACCST 2.x.x firmware. Like with all the new FrSky stuff, it seems to be yet one more thing which is causing people a ton of headaches. The ACCST 1.x.x firmware is well proven and has worked perfectly for years so I would just stick with that. You can get hold of the last ACCST 1.x.x firmware (v191128) for the R-XSR by clicking HERE. If you manage to get that flashed to the R-XSR then you will also need to downgrade the internal XJT module on your X-Lite back to the latest version of the ACCST 1.x.x firmware (v20180416) as well which you can get by clicking HERE. Should I modify the flashing cable when using QX7? The front port doesn´t work and should I use the external module connector? • Posts: 21,271 Threads: 587 Likes Received: 8,970 in 6,638 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 788 When you say the front port on the QX7 doesn't work, is there actually an S.Port connector on the front or is there just an empty hole? The first versions of the QX7 didn't have a front port so you had to flash receivers using the connector pins in the JR module bay. If your old QX7 does have a front S.Port connector but it just doesnt work for some reason (do you know why?) then you will be out of luck because on QX7's equipped with a front S.Port connector you can't flash a receiver using the JR module bay pins. • Posts: 122 Threads: 9 Likes Received: 6 in 6 posts Likes Given: 22 Joined: Apr 2020 Reputation: 1 21-Apr-2020, 01:09 PM (This post was last modified: 21-Apr-2020, 01:34 PM by ericz.) My "old" QX7 does have a front S.Port... I never flashed it before but I look some videos on Youtube and the guys said the front connector doesn´t work for flashing. I bought QX7 in the September, so it´s not too old version. Edit Reason: Typo corrections. ) That video you linked to is quite an old video and is around the time that FrSky implemented the S.Port connector on the bottom. So it's possible that the transmitter in that video had a old version of OpenTX installed on it that didn't have the S.Port connector support enhancements. Other members here on the forum have previously confirmed that you can only use the bottom S.Port connector on a QX7 for flashing receivers with (if it has one) and not the JR module bay connector on the back. The latest confirmation of this is from Maiden Flight in the following post... https://intofpv.com/t-qx7-mods-question?...8#pid89288 • Posts: 122 Threads: 9 Likes Received: 6 in 6 posts Likes Given: 22 Joined: Apr 2020 Reputation: 1 Tried with QX7 with front Sport - FW not responding. Edit Reason: Additional info added. ) It's possible you are somehow managing to corrupt the STM32 bootloader on your R-XSR receivers. First off, what version of OpenTX is on the QX7? Also, what type of computer are you using to copy the firmware file to the SD Card? Is it a Mac or a Windows computer? And what make / capacity / type is the SD card you're using? • Posts: 122 Threads: 9 Likes Received: 6 in 6 posts Likes Given: 22 Joined: Apr 2020 Reputation: 1 21-Apr-2020, 03:25 PM (This post was last modified: 21-Apr-2020, 03:26 PM by ericz.) Using WIN10 latest build with all service packs... First time, the flash was successfull. I tried different SD cards ( 3 types, 8GB and 32GB sizes, all with FAT32 with default cluster size), right now I am using ADATA 8GB and also tried SANDISK Class 10 card. Even in QX7 same result... • Posts: 21,271 Threads: 587 Likes Received: 8,970 in 6,638 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 788 OK, the reason I asked about the computer is because Macs sometimes put a second filr on the SD Card with the same name as the original file but with an underscore at the front. If you try and flash one of those to a receiver you will brick it. Likewise, if you try and flash a firmware file to the receiver that is meant for a different receiver, you can also brick it. As you're using Windows, the underscore files won't be an issue, but check you aren't trying to flash a firmware file for something else. It's safest to only have that one firmware file on the SD Card. As for the SD Card, if you haven't already done so, download and run the H2testw utility from the link below to check the actual capacity and speed of your SD Card. I always make a habit of using this utility to check a newly purchased SD card as soon as it gets delivered. You can end up with fake cards even some of the reputable suppliers, as I've discovered. This utility has saved me from potential data loss on at least 2 SD cards and one USB drive that had a fake capacity which results in file corruption. https://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Sys...estw.shtml What version of OpenTX is on the QX7? • Posts: 122 Threads: 9 Likes Received: 6 in 6 posts Likes Given: 22 Joined: Apr 2020 Reputation: 1 SDCARD looks good...
