Since I'm building a quad with kiss FC and BLHeli_S ESC's it would be quite interesting to try. https://github.com/bitdump/BLHeli/tree/m...ex%20files Posts: 5,322 Threads: 673 Likes Received: 3,159 in 1,747 posts Likes Given: 2,032 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 139 is it flashable directly from BLHeliSuite or do you need to download the firmware from Github? • Posts: 947 Threads: 66 Likes Received: 350 in 248 posts Likes Given: 164 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 34 I'm not sure, but I guess we need to download the FW from the link. From what I understand, this is an early alpha version, but I haven't found much information yet. I'm not sure if I want to risk a smoked ESC or motor to find out yet • Posts: 195 Threads: 8 Likes Received: 86 in 54 posts Likes Given: 79 Joined: Aug 2016 Reputation: 6 I've been following the development of DShot on RCG, so far it's still unstable on KISS and AFAIK, things have been slower on BlHeli_S side so be careful. • Posts: 1 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 0 (01-Nov-2016, 03:09 PM)tozes Wrote: I've been following the development of DShot on RCG, so far it's still unstable on KISS and AFAIK, things have been slower on BlHeli_S side so be careful. Yeah, but that is a full Kiss setup. A friend of mine also fly with DShot on his fully Kissed quad without any issues and it flies very good! Propwash oscillations are almost non-existent! • Posts: 195 Threads: 8 Likes Received: 86 in 54 posts Likes Given: 79 Joined: Aug 2016 Reputation: 6 (05-Nov-2016, 01:17 PM)Terrorswell Wrote: Looks stable here. That's best case scenario, when it works it's amazing, when it falls of the sky because one motor stopped, not so much The development, at least on KISS is going very fast though so I bet we'll see more and more people using it soon • Posts: 1 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Nov 2016 Reputation: 0 (05-Nov-2016, 01:17 PM)Terrorswell Wrote: Looks stable here. what escs are you using? i need the right hex for xs20a is it the same hex file as the regular bl heli s? • Posts: 39 Threads: 8 Likes Received: 5 in 4 posts Likes Given: 4 Joined: Oct 2016 Reputation: 0 any new info out on D shot? I just did a bench test, so we'll have to wait and see how it goes when getting this setup in the air. Since the first test was successful, I took my SPRacing F3 clone and flashed it with Betaflight 3.1 and then flashed the Racerstar 20A V1 ESCs I got on my Frankenquad with Kiss FC. I first did a bench test with the SPRacing FC set to Dshot150 and it looked fine. No motor twitcing and everything looked good. Then I flashed the Kiss FC with the latest Dshot FW. I did a bench test with Kiss FC with Dsot 150 and the Racerstar 20A v1, and for now, by just doing some tests on the bench, it looks to be working fine. I will have to wait for better weather before I can try the quad in the air. From what I read on the RCgroups thread, the V1 Racerstar ESCs with the 24MHz Chip are capable of running Dshot 150, while the V2 Racerstars with the 48MHZ Chip can run Dshot 300 Posts: 236 Threads: 2 Likes Received: 66 in 45 posts Likes Given: 27 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 17 (12-Nov-2016, 03:29 PM)oyvinla Wrote: From what I read on the RCgroups thread, the V1 Racerstar ESCs with the 24MHz Chip are capable of running Dshot 150, while the V2 Racerstars with the 48MHZ Chip can run Dshot 300 V2 can run DShot600 since 16.43 Posts: 947 Threads: 66 Likes Received: 350 in 248 posts Likes Given: 164 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 34 (12-Nov-2016, 07:31 PM)AndreyM Wrote: V2 can run DShot600 since 16.43 Thanks, I will do a test one more time. I just tried it for a short period of time because of some motor twitching when running dshot 600. It could be that I will put the v2 escs on the kiss fc then. Another thing that came to my mind was calibration. I thought that we didn't have to calibrate the escs anymore, but I still had to do the calibration procedure in betaflight to get the full range. Can I just set the range manually from 1000-2000 instead in blheli? • Posts: 947 Threads: 66 Likes Received: 350 in 248 posts Likes Given: 164 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 34 I got 6 packs on my kiss quad with racerstar 20A V1 running dshot150 without any issues yesterday. One thing I noticed was that my motors was warmer than usual when I landed. When I was running oneshot42 they were cold when I landed • Posts: 19 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 1 in 1 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Aug 2016 Reputation: 0 (12-Nov-2016, 03:29 PM)oyvinla Wrote: Thanks, I tried installing the dshot code for the Racerstar 35A V2 ESCs and running Xracer F303 V3.1 with betaflight 3.1 and it looks like Dshot 300 will work fine.
