DJI O3 video stutter
#1
Hey all,

I'm reviewing video from yesterday's Cinebot30 flights, and I'm seeing a consistent stutter in the O3 video when doing rolls. The stutter occurs consistently about 1/3 to 1/2 way through the roll. Any ideas what is causing this, and whether or not there is a fix?

I don't see this stutter in the goggles video.

Thanks.

Glue the camera lens inside the housing is the only solution I've seen for this issue.

Or, if it isn't the lens, switch the freqs on your ESC to 48khz or 96. Supposedly that IMU runs at 24khz inside the air unit.

This touches on it, and I think there were some other topics on here related to the same: https://old.reddit.com/r/fpv/comments/10...ocksteady/

Thanks.

I'd think if it were the camera that I'd see the stutter in the goggles videos too, which I don't.

I turned of rock steady, but haven't reviewed the videos since I did that. Maybe that will help.

I reviewed a bit of the reddit post, which mentioned rocksteady (as per the link).

I'd think the same, but the complaints seem to reiterate exactly your situation.

Turning off Rock Steady solved it. I reviewed some videos of my first flights after replacing the receiver a couple of days ago, and there was no stutter during rolls.

Nice!

Glad that worked. There was varying degrees of success it seems.

Just when I thought Rocksteady would solve my need for a Gopro on future quads...   Sad

The video still looks darn good to me! Since I'm only using my videos to review my technique now, the O3 video is more than good enough. I've even reduce the resolution from 4K to 1080p to save space on the SD card.
