Designing a fully printed cinewhoop
#16
Sooo, I have a short list of excuses for not posting anything here:
  • my phone camera died Sad
  • I lost the charger for my other camera  Poop

So i ordered two things - a new charger and a 850mah 4s pack Big Grin

I have finished the camera mount, I have one pic taken before my phone started acting weird. The SD camera mounting 'belt' was supposed to be a quick and dirty temporary solution... but it is working completely fine Big Grin

What you see is a new print in yellow 'PLA pro' which is supposed to be 50% more impact resistant than ABS, and I see it is in fact a bit more flexible than standard brittle PLA. I don't know yet if that claim about increased resistance stands true as I didn't try to bash it yet - waiting for the charger to get some beauty shots before I kill this thing.

In the meantime I am playing with throttle curves as using linear throttle when trying to squeeze through gaps is not the greatest idea. My throttle control is not good enough for this weirdness Smile

Here it is: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3953423

I didn't upload a camera mount yet, as I'm not satisfied with the one I printed - I will be redesigning that part. I left two parts for people that want to print this already:
- flat mounting plate so you can design and print your own mount
- small mount to use with a strap, should be usable for all session-shaped cameras... or other type if you are creative enough.

I will also post a few HD videos when I'm at least a bit satisfied with my own flying  ROFL

Have fun!

Added two files for GP Session/compatible runcam cameras I worked on today - I did not print them yet, so I marked the project as WIP.

One file is for 10, other fot 15 degree. Not sure if steeper camera angle is needed  Thinking

I got most parts needed printed, need to get the rest to print and do some cleaning on the ones I've got so far!

Tolerances are thight with those ducts. I need to sand a bit to get them to align all vertically, but it's a printer issue, haven't got around to check the settings with supports :/

In the meanwhile I'm also trying a new frame for my Mobula 7 guts. Also 3D printed.

As soon as possible I'll post some photos of the progress Wink

Sweet, can't wait for the photos ^^

I didn't bump the vertical tolerances as it is always easier to work a bit with a knife than add washers in case someone prints on a fine tuned printer. I didn't fine tune on mine and I just had to scrape a few loose strands off. Also - I don't feel like it's really necessary to have all of them aligned absolutely perfectly. You are welcome to change my mind, share some photos Smile
