I've seen different receivers and antennas. Is this list correct for casual cruiser / freestyling ? https://www.team-blacksheep.com/products...e_micro_tx (module for my taranis qx7) https://www.team-blacksheep.com/products...tal_t_v2_s (like stack of these for fitting onto the drone) And then I guess I am stuck here, which one do I rly need? team-blacksheep.com/products/prod:crossfire_mrx https://www.team-blacksheep.com/products...re_nano_se https://www.team-blacksheep.com/products...re_nano_rx It seems I can go big and buy Micro RX, or just go for Nano SE and I should be able to use immortal T V2 antennas on it? Also how good are those stock antennas on e.g. on that micro receiver? Thanks • Posts: 21,390 Threads: 593 Likes Received: 9,027 in 6,681 posts Likes Given: 1,428 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 794 25-Jun-2020, 03:20 PM (This post was last modified: 25-Jun-2020, 03:28 PM by SnowLeopardFPV. Edit Reason: Typo corrections. ) I might be wrong but I didn't think TBS accepted pre-orders. They mentioned on their live stream in the past that if you order an out-of-stock product you will get issued with a refund. Maybe that has changed. I don't know. Keep in mind that if they do accept pre-orders then there is no way of knowing what position you are in the queue. There are so many people wanting them that they may already have more orders than the first or second batch will provide. There is also no official word when the first batch of Micro TX V2's are due in. If you get the Crossfire Nano SE it comes with an Immortal T V2 antenna. The non-SE version just comes with a dipole antenna. I do have both types but I've only ever used the Immortal T antenna. I've never tried the dipole so I don't know if there is any difference. Probably not for short range freestyle flying. The Immortal T is just more convenient to mount. • Posts: 223 Threads: 23 Likes Received: 91 in 53 posts Likes Given: 126 Joined: Aug 2019 Reputation: 1 (25-Jun-2020, 03:20 PM)SnowLeopardFPV Wrote: I might be wrong but I didn't think TBS accepted pre-orders. About pre-ordering, I joined their facebook group and found the post where they announced that they are selling V1's out for 50%. Mentioning that if you have ordered the one that does not say "V1", that you should not cancel the order as it's a pre-order. Quote:UPDATE: All sold out for now. Maybe more coming. We'll keep you posted here. As announced on the Livestream. They were gone pretty quick, we found some more. Micro TX ... V1 ... *hint* *hint* at $30. Yes, that's 50% off! While stocks last, don't order if it says "out of stock". If you have a preorder for the "TBS Micro TX" (non-"V1"), don't cancel. *hint hint* • Posts: 21,390 Threads: 593 Likes Received: 9,027 in 6,681 posts Likes Given: 1,428 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 794 25-Jun-2020, 03:43 PM (This post was last modified: 25-Jun-2020, 04:06 PM by SnowLeopardFPV. Edit Reason: Typo corrections. ) OK, so it does look like it's on a pre-order. Still no word on when they are due in though or how many people are already in the queue. Some people who ordered the Tango II over 3 months ago are still waiting for it. And I've been waiting for over 2 months for the Fusion to come into stock. They did promise in their last live stream 2 weeks ago that stock of the Fusion was due in the next day, but where is it? And still no further word on when it will be available. That is one of the bad things I've discovered about TBS that I don't like. They do seem to like to keep you in the dark regarding stock levels, or pretend they have stock coming in and then later make an excuse why that didn't happen so they don't jeopardise sales. Oh yes, one other thing I forgot to mention is that if you have a QX7 you will need to do a risky hardware mod to the main board of the QX7 to get full speed baud rate from the Crossfire module. Some people have ruined their main boards trying to do the mod so keep that in mind because you need to be reasonably competent at microscopic soldering. FrSky crippled the QX7 on purpose to try and make it incompatible with Crossfire. Of course, FrSky made sure their R9 system works perfectly in the QX7 without any mods. Now fancy that • Posts: 12,098 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 Too bad they don't have a package deal. I bought the module plus 6 receiver as a package. • Posts: 21,390 Threads: 593 Likes Received: 9,027 in 6,681 posts Likes Given: 1,428 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 794 25-Jun-2020, 05:11 PM (This post was last modified: 25-Jun-2020, 05:12 PM by SnowLeopardFPV.) There is a Crossfire Micro "Starter Kit" that includes a Micro TX and 5 Crossfire Nano receivers which effectively gives you one of the receivers for free. That's the package I got last year. For some reason though, TBS don't seem to sell that package themselves. It only seems to be available through resellers. • Posts: 223 Threads: 23 Likes Received: 91 in 53 posts Likes Given: 126 Joined: Aug 2019 Reputation: 1 Thanks guys, I went for seperate parts and going to hope it doesnt take ages for me to get it. At least this is some pre order that I can afford and soon to forget, luckily its not something in value of pair of orqa's. But yeah, bought it before reading your comment about QX7. Well, checked some videos will decide if going to attempt it myself or try to find someone locally to do this for me. I know one fpv guy who does some microscopic soldering, perhaps he can help • Posts: 21,390 Threads: 593 Likes Received: 9,027 in 6,681 posts Likes Given: 1,428 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 794 I think the Micro TX V2 is going to have at least 500mW of power which will be plenty. The V1 only has 250mW. That said, my Micro TX is set to 100mW and I've flown out to ~500-600 metres on that power level with no issues. RFMD does drop down to 1 at that range on 100mW but I've never noticed the reduction in latency or had any link quality warnings, and I don't really fly out any further than that anyway so 100mW is sufficient. The only reason I don't set it to a higher output power is to keep heat levels and battery usage down. You'll enjoy the renewed confidence when flying Crossfire. I never even worry or think about having a failsafe anymore, unlike before • Posts: 223 Threads: 23 Likes Received: 91 in 53 posts Likes Given: 126 Joined: Aug 2019 Reputation: 1 (25-Jun-2020, 06:36 PM)SnowLeopardFPV Wrote: I think the Micro TX V2 is going to have at least 500mW of power which will be plenty. Yeah I definitely need that confidence boost, otherwise I had failsafe so close to me few days back that I feel like it can happen any time. This stops me from attempting to fly some real nice areas, not just worrying about quad but also I could endanger someones property If the quad can failsafe any moment.. My goal is to do something awesome here, this is close to where I live, and the view is amazing So thanks again and fingers crossed • Posts: 223 Threads: 23 Likes Received: 91 in 53 posts Likes Given: 126 Joined: Aug 2019 Reputation: 1 Yes! It looks like you were lucky What shipping method did you use? I will be interested to see if you get charged import duties and taxes on delivery because that is one of the things currently holding me back from ordering anything direct from TBS. Please let us know if you do once you receive the package. • Posts: 223 Threads: 23 Likes Received: 91 in 53 posts Likes Given: 126 Joined: Aug 2019 Reputation: 1 (06-Jul-2020, 01:20 PM)SnowLeopardFPV Wrote: It looks like you were lucky What shipping method did you use? Please let us know if you do once you receive the package. Will do! Well this purchase was not the cheapest, I chosen Express delivery which should be few days. Cost me about 32 USD shipping alone. So will see how many days it takes and what are the costs for import I also was curious, never ordered anything outside EU except from Banggood where there is no import taxes. • Posts: 21,390 Threads: 593 Likes Received: 9,027 in 6,681 posts Likes Given: 1,428 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 794 Import duties and taxes are generally avoided with Banggood because a lot of their stuff is "drop shipped" to a local distributor in your country and then shipped on via internal domestic mail, so to the end consumer it is just like you bought it from someone in your own country which means nothing gets flagged to the tax collectors. I heard of people ordering from Banggood before who used the quick express shipping (courier) delivery option instead of the slow drop shipping option and they got stung for a load of import tax when the package arrived. I'm not sure about your country but where I am it is the responsibility of the couriers like DHL, UPS, Fedex etc. to collect any tax and duties on delivery, so you generally always get caught for those taxes if you use an express courier to deliver stuff from outside of the EU because they want payment of those taxes before they hand over the parcel to you. • Posts: 223 Threads: 23 Likes Received: 91 in 53 posts Likes Given: 126 Joined: Aug 2019 Reputation: 1 (06-Jul-2020, 02:23 PM)SnowLeopardFPV Wrote: Import duties and taxes are generally avoided with Banggood because a lot of their stuff is "drop shipped" to a local distributor in your country and then shipped on via internal domestic mail, so to the end consumer it is just like you bought it from someone in your own country which means nothing gets flagged to the tax collectors.
