Conformal coating
#1
I've never done it before but recently got some of the stuff, especially with how wet the northeast has been, and want to apply to my new build's stack (f4 speedybee). I know avoid the plugs, but was there anything else to stay away from coating on this stack?
This might be a silly question but can I coat the solder pads after I've wired everything up? I know obviously keep it off pads you wanna use before I wire up but after...

Yes. Make sure you don't get any conformal coating in the hole of the barometer chip.

Yes, coat all the pads. That is the main point of conformal coating. You want any exposed metal contacts on the board to be "sealed" so they can't be shorted out.

Don’t forget to plug your usb cable in while doing it (obviously just the cable, don’t plug the other end into a PC) that conformal coating, as much as you try to stay away from the USB port, will find its way in (and any other plugs the board has) You don’t need a thick layer, just a thin coat, use a black light to see where you’ve applied it.

Avoiding the barometer chip is only necessary if you use it.

So Lemony tinsd all the pads on his boards regardless of whether he uses them prior to coating. It apparently makes it easier to use them later. So maybe tin all the pads on your FC, vtx, etc.

Beyond that just go with everyone else's advice. I don't personally coat mine.
