11 I bought my buddy a radiomaster zorro elrs controller, same controller as mine. I tried binding his new controller to a few of my existing quads. The transmitter page on bf showed a very brief response to the controller as I hit bind on the remote, but it would not successfully bind.
Can you only bind a quad to one controller? Why was I unable to bind his new RM Zorro to my old mobula6?

388 What version of ELRS are you running. You might have a mismatch.

11 Unfortunately, updating to elrs 3.3 did not allow me to connect. I still get the same brief indication of connection when I confirm the bind request but then nothing. Any other ideas?

93 What version of Betaflight is on the Mobula? What ELRS version is on the TX?
Do you have both flashed with the same binding phrase and regulatory domain (eg ISM)?
SPI receivers currently do not work with the D, F, or full-res modes in ELRS. Make sure the Zorro packet rate is not set to one of these modes in the lua.

11 Both radios are flashed to elrs 3.2.1. And my radio works with the drone, so it's not the elrs version. Both are flashed with the same binding phrase. Both are on ism domain
IT WAS THE PACKET RATE.
rate was set to f1000. Setting it to 500hz did it. Thank you all for your help. Now me and my buddy can fly together!

59 You are both using the same binding phrase? Not sure how that works, but I would guess that is not recommended if you are both flying at the same time? Maybe you should use two different passphrases, and doesn't 3.x have a loan option where you can loan a quad to a buddy without changing the passphrase?

11 Will look into the loan option, that would be great. Haven't actually booted them up simultaneously, so the passphrase question is on my mind.

11 20-Oct-2023, 09:44 PM (This post was last modified: 20-Oct-2023, 09:45 PM by FPVme.) It does work to have the same passphrase without interfering with one another. It seems the drone can only bind to one receiver, so when I bind the mob6 to my friends remote it unbinds from mine, then a quick bind in betaflight brings it back to my controller. I'll read up on the loan option, but for a quick flight together I think this will work.
Long term though, yes, we for sure should not have the same passphrase.

1 Well, maybe they fought over the same telemetry channel.
