I just built new and used lumineer f7. The one with 2 camera pads for switcher. All done and get no video from camera. I get osd info and just a black screen.. tried putting on cam 2 pad and switch but still nothing. Why can’t I just put the cam signal on Vic pad... it’s getting the osd on it and if I run it just straight from cam to Cox I get video without osd but if when just vtx is on fc gives osd so seems I could just put them both on vtx pad?

Vic pad? You should have a C1 and C2 pad. You wire the camera signal to one of these. Did you setup the camera switch in the mode tab?

It would probably help from a visual point of view so we can identify any possible wiring issues if you show us pictures of how you wired the camera to the FC when you were getting just a black background with OSD displayed. It will then be absolutely clear what you have done with the wiring so will avoid any guessing games.

I am familiar with the way to wire it. I have had couple them recently and all worked fine. I had setup two cameras on one also just to see how it did.. but I wire it exactly the way manual says to do everything. I getting power from tramp. Then wire cam signal to c1 and it’s just black. I hook straight to vtx signal it works. I’m asking why can’t I just keep it wired straight to vtx but also wire vtx signal to fc vtx pad.. sorry about first post. My phone is new and was not understanding what I type and change it without my knowledge. Most things don’t make sense in it is meant to be vtx

If you wire both wires to the VTX, you will likely also get a overlay of the black image. I know mixing audio signal isn't easy. So with videos, I don't think it is that easy.
