Black Video When Throttle Applied
#1
Hi guys, a beginner here and still trying to figure out this issue.

I'm using a Cinequeen 4k by GEPRC - recently I crashed the quad and a new issue came.

The video is fine when powered on, and after apply some throttle for a few seconds, the video turns black (with OSD). This persists until I unplugged and plugged the battery back in (without moving the drone or touching any connection points.)

The video recording to the SD card is perfectly fine (even during the parts where video turns black in my goggles). I'm using a 4s 850mAh battery (same ones I've been using for the previous month).

Any ideas what I can do to figure out this issue?

Check the signal wire that goes from the Runcam system to the FC. The reason your DVR is fine, that uses a different camera and goes directly to the DVR. If everything looks fine, you want to direct wire the FPV camera signal to the VTX, bypassing the FC. If you get good video, then something is wrong with the OSD chip on the FC. If you are getting the same black screen, then likely something wrong with the Runcam Hybrid FPV camera or circuit board.

Ah right! That makes sense. I'm going to do some research on how to direct wire from FPV to VTX.

What do you think about the fact that the video feed seems to be fine until I apply throttle? Since I won't be able to apply the same draw on the battery if I direct wire the Runcam to VTX (right?).

I can't explain why it is blacking out on throttle. Normally brown outs are caused by lipo sag. But it does not look like it, in your situation.

The draw on the lipo will virtually be the same whether you wire the camera through the FC or directly to the VTX.
