Binding issue.

That CLi dump was with the I6B plugged in instead of the A8S with iBus set in config, shall I still go ahead and solder direct to RX2 in the hope it will fix the issue or might that indicate there’s something else going on? I’m assuming it will use UART2 rather than UART1 by soldering it direct to RX2?

Yes, just leave the Betaflight settings as they are with IBUS set as the protocol and solder to UART2 (RX2) for the IBUS connection as per the videos.

You'll also need to run the following commands in the CLI to switch Serial RX on for UART2 and off for UART1...

Code:
serial 0 0 115200 57600 0 115200
serial 1 64 115200 57600 0 115200
save

Right then, I’m making progress. Following soldering up to the RX2 tab I’m now getting my transmitter movements in betaflight so that’s all good and can control the Tyro from the TX.

Next up my motor rotation is fine, whilst all my motors are correctly soldered up to the right ESC’s (you can’t get it wrong because of the cable lengths and also the board alignment and the location of the esc solder points) I need to swap my rear right and rear left motors over and also my front 2 motors from left to right. I can’t see an option to do that anywhere in betaflight or blheli though? Also when i throttle up and then back to zero, the rpm of the motors starts to increase by itself, even with throttle position on the TX at minimum? I’ve not updated the esc firmware yet may I add. The project is moving in the right direction though! Thanks for your help again!

I think, looking at this video -

I can remap next motors in CLi, so I’ll have a look at that soon.

If you get stuck remapping the motors then just post back and we can help you with that. Make sure you take a CLI dump of your current settings first and keep it somewhere on your hard drive so you can easily revert back if you mess something up.

The motor behaviour of the RPM increasing on the bench with no props fitted is normal. Rather then me repeating stuff that has already been said, just watch the following video...

Thanks for your awesome help SnowLeopardFPV. My motors are now all correct and I only had one rotating the wrong way which I corrected in BLHeli. I’m waiting for some new button head screws as the M2 ones that came with it are shocking. Even using a better quality Allen key, it won’t tighten the screws up without spinning in the screw heads, naff is an understatement. Hooked it up to my goggles and vtx all
working fine too, the camera on the Tyro79 isn’t the best but is low latency which is important. Any other pre flight tuning worth doing before I attempt a first flight soon?

Looking at your Betaflight dump, you seem to have covered all of the other little things that sometimes get overlooked like turning motor stop off, turning air mode on, turning anti-gravity on, and setting small angle to 180. So I think you're probably good to go once you've sorted the screws.

Happy flying Smile
