34 I just got a Beerotor F3 with built in OSD. I and trying to flash MWOSD to it, but it doesnt seem to work as expected. I am using my USB to FTDI serial which I have been using for flashing Micro Minimosd, but it doesnt look like it is communicating with the Beerotor OSD and I am not able to flash MWOSD or connect to the OSD through MWOSD_GUI.

0 Did you NOT connect the LiPo?
You have to power the FC via the FTDI only.
I have same setup and was able to connect via MWOSD_GUI with no problems.

34 No Lipo or USB connected, so it is only powered by 5V from the FTDI adapter. My FTDI adapter is the red one you can get for 2-3$ from ebay. I know it is working, since I tested it with a MinimOSD right after

0 Did you verify the TX<->RX and RX<->TX connections? Also the 115200 baud rate?
You may need to test the FC "as is" with your vTX and Cam to check if the OSD is displaying anything.
I actually did this before trying to use the MWOSD_GUI tool which worked well.

34 yes, the TX/RX is correct. I noticed that the Beerotor TX/RX was the opposite of the Micro Minimosd so swapped the around. I have tried different baud rates incl. 115200 without any luck. I will try to connect a camera and see if there is anything there.

0 I'm using a FTDI adapter similar to yours without problems. Did you configure it as 5V ? that might be the issue but if you did upgrade firmware on other Micro MinimOSD I guess that is well set already.
Let us know once you have tested the FC and your FPV gear is installed.

34 Yeah, 5V it is.
I have some similar problems with a mxk Pdb as well. This one also got an OSD, and I have the same problem with that one. Not able to communicate and get a syncerror in arduino ide when trying to flash it. I read somewhere that it could be something with the circuit that takes care of switching of communication between the FC and the programming tool. I'll see if I can find it

0 I did not have to update the OSD firmware on my Beerotor FC and using the Cleanflight V & Amp calibration values indicated on rctimer website did work for me. So you may not need to access your OSD actually.
