I was trying to decide the best way to place the battery on my latest build. If I place it "flat", the screws that hold the top plate on will dig into the battery as shown. Even with velcro between the battery and the plate, once you pull it down with the strap, I suspect it will still be digging into it...at least a little. Add viberation and movement and I could have a problem. If I mount it on it's edge..... That problem will pretty much be elimintated. However, it will raise the COG a bit. Even though approximately 80% of the battery will still be in the same spatial location, a little of it will extend above that, but it will not amount to a lot of weight. My inclination is to not worry about it, I don't think it will make a significant difference. Would appreciate hearing any thoughts/opinions anyone would care to offer. Thanks! "Damn the torpedoes!!! I've had the same concerns. I got some 2mm non-slip tape ( https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3cm-50cm...24691.html ). Most M3 button-head screws have 1.65mm thick heads, so this will help, I think. But I'm thinking about getting some even thinner low-profile hex screws (0.8mm head) like these: http://www.rcmart.com/3racing-tsfsm306al...39378.html. (Edit: Nope, not those. See post below.) (I've done away with all velcro - I'm using the anti-slip rubber tape, and anti-slip lipo straps.) I was digging through my stuff and I found something that will work I think....didn't even know I had it...or for that matter where I even got it: Using this on the plate and the battery elevates the battery approximately 3/16" above the plate resulting in this: I think this will solve my problem. Appreciate the response Scotty! EDIT: I am going to pick up some of those screws and "dead" rubber you provided the links to....good stuff! Thanks! "Damn the torpedoes!!! That way the battery sits a bit more stable, compared to when it's all in the middle. It's not Velcro, it's something called duel lock that is more stable then Velcro (it doesn't compress like Velcro). Were it Velcro, I would agree with you 100%, but it's pretty stable like it is. It's a bit of an optical illusion too.....it's only in from the edges of the battery maybe an eighth of an inch at most. : ) "Damn the torpedoes!!! Thanks! The screws I linked above are NOT the correct type (my bad, those are tapered). The ones I'm talking about are like this (These are Misumi stainless steel - not sure they can be found in aluminum.)
