Setup was running fine with KDE1806 2350kv...swapped motors and now its almost unflyable. Acts as if P or D are way too high, but they aren't. Have tried turning them down A LOT and doesn't make any difference. Would love it if someone can point me in the right direction. My setup: Naze32 Rev6, Emax Red Base 2600kv, HQ4040bn, Littlebee 20a - BLHeli 14.2 (Damped light, Demag Low, Medium High timing) I tried running medium motor timing, same problem Also tried lowered my PID (a lot), similar result. • Posts: 93 Threads: 25 Likes Received: 6 in 5 posts Likes Given: 3 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 4 which version of betaflight are you using? I know guys are having major issues with Naze32 Rev6.... I'd throw it in the bin personally higher KV motor is probably introducing a vibration - the problems with the Naze seem related to the gyro, and so vibration is a consideration with them http://intofpv.com/t-new-betaflight-2khz...-vibration • Posts: 72 Threads: 19 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 2 Strange, we tested 2 quads the last 2 weeks, and having the same issue! Tried everything from betaflight 2.1.6 to the latest version. Tried several versions of BL Heli also. Calibrated ESCs several times, happened across all PID controllers. It's a really weird issue. Medium and Medium High timings.. Swapping out motors shouldn't (in my mind) do anything like this. It seems like some kind of timing/sync issue, but who knows. • Posts: 37 Threads: 20 Likes Received: 8 in 2 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Feb 2016 Reputation: 2 I tried 2.1.6 also the most recent firmware. I haven't had any problems with rev 6 so far until i changed the motors, i have heard from a couple of sources that the Emax motors don't get on well with the Naze Rev6. Oh well I might get the XRacer f3 V2 then and will report back if it's still an issue! thanks guys! (06-Apr-2016, 03:04 AM)CurryCat Wrote: which version of betaflight are you using? I just ran into it last night with my new Redbottoms. I turned off Damped light and the issue went away but I won't fly without active breaking. Here is my current setup * ImpulseRC Alien 5" LUX FC on the latest release of Betaflight 20A Little Bees - on the latest version of BLHeli Emax RS2205 2300kv X4R running SBUS I'm still trouble shooting mine. I had discovered that the supplied screws were a half a millimeter to long. Only one seemed to have been giving me bad vibrations after that so I swapped it out and now the gyros are clean but I'm getting horrible oscillations that tuning will not get rid of. I plan on changing out the other three motors tonight just to eliminate that possibility. My gut is telling me it's a syncing issue but with no experience with that it could just be an upset stomach. Mine too are little bees with I believe BLHeli 14.4, Though started with 14.3 and I've tried older. • Posts: 2 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 0 Turning off damped light eliminated the issue for me. I'm currently trying to narrow it down so I can have that back on. • Posts: 146 Threads: 10 Likes Received: 37 in 24 posts Likes Given: 15 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 4 21-Apr-2016, 05:53 PM (This post was last modified: 21-Apr-2016, 05:54 PM by Trollhammered.) What does it look like in black box? • Posts: 41 Threads: 7 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 1 Try shorter screws. Alien 4inch, 2600kv redbottoms, little been 20amp , naze32 rev6. Bad stutter at about 20 to 50% throttle.
Same gear same issue , figure it out? • Posts: 146 Threads: 10 Likes Received: 37 in 24 posts Likes Given: 15 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 4 HAHAHAHA!!!!!! I swapped out all the motors with no change and then the ESC and still the oscillations. Then after thinking about what Starpoc was saying about turning off damped light I thought what the hell I'll turn it off too just to see if this thing can ever be stable. That's when my palm hit my forehead cause I never turned it on. Hey Starpoc now that I've solved my oops I was wondering if when you have damped light on is oneshot in your configurator turned off? • Posts: 3 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 0 25-Apr-2016, 04:03 PM (This post was last modified: 25-Apr-2016, 04:03 PM by Loopdreams.) I just registered after finding this thread in a google search. I'm having the same issue with these motors albeit the 2300kv version and a rev 5 Naze. Am just about to try it again without damped light to see if it goes away. • Posts: 146 Threads: 10 Likes Received: 37 in 24 posts Likes Given: 15 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 4 (25-Apr-2016, 04:03 PM)Loopdreams Wrote: I just registered after finding this thread in a google search. How ever turning damped light on is what worked for me. Also check that your screws aren't touching your windings. The smaller option that comes with the motors are about .5mm too long for a 3mm bottom plate • Posts: 1 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 0 26-Apr-2016, 05:02 AM (This post was last modified: 26-Apr-2016, 05:06 AM by jmera. Edit Reason: Add more detail ) I'm also experiencing bad twitching (specifically on the yaw axis). My setup: Mixuko 5" (Unibody frames seem to be having more problems) Emax RS2205 2300kv RG20 Naze32 rev6 Here is the corresponding issue on Github: https://github.com/borisbstyle/betaflight/issues/322. Some have tried using O rings, turning active braking off (not an option for me) and other vibration damping techniques. It seems like MPU6500 is creating a lot of noise with certain hardware configurations + active braking. • Posts: 3 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 0 This response probably isn't really going to help anyone since I didn't take a very scientific approach but the problem seems to have gone away (or at least it has just hovering in the back garden, not got it out for a proper fly yet). Things I did were, update to latest BLHeli and Betaflight, set yaw deadband, calibrate ESCs, swear at it a lot. Not sure which if any of those made the difference or if the planets just came into the correct alignment or something. • |
