Ever had a bad FPV day? You tell yourself that you should just stop. But you can't because you have charged packs, and don't want to discharge at home.
Here is my day. I don't normally go out for long FPV session due to a real life. Today I had that chance. Charged about a dozen or so packs, and headed to an area I don't go often due to distance.
The day started the night before when I discovered one of the arm on the Rooster is bent. My friend was supposed to give me a spare arm, but forgot to bring it. So, Rooster is on the DL.
Out at the site. I like to warm up on the smaller guys. 3 inches Sparrow. Two flights in. Motor gone.
Diatone GTM3, bent arm also after a few packs.
Now I go to the 5 inches. Chameleon flew horrible. Thought it was the props. Took it in for all new props, and discovered that one of the arm is broken previously. I was hoping to get some GoPro videos.
Took my Frankenstein out. Crashed it and destroyed the camera and a bent stack. I didn't like the Foxeer Good excuse to replace the camera.
The Japalura 4 inches has been the only one free of crashes all day. But it wasn't my day. Crashed it too. Lipo flew out, battery strap ripped. Bent the aluminum frame where I couldn't get a new strap in.
Oh, my Tokio SX did not want to arm constantly. Tried to use the Speedybee app. It would not connect. Found out later there is something funny going with the FC. Have to figure it out another day.
Man what a nightmare! If it makes you feel any better, I just realized that the motor on my 3" which flew apart due to a missing grub screw, is also missing a bearing, dammit! I ordered everything else + spares, now waiting for that... Also just found out that I uploaded the wrong bloody file for the top plate for my 4" design from armattan, thankfully I can use the same alu standoffs that would separate the top and bottom plates, and use them horizontally to provide the structural integrity that is lacking due to the missing top plate. It uses 1 less standoff in this configuration, and without the top plate it is going to save a few grams. I wont be able to use my (clever or idiotic, I don't know) vertical FC mounting solution, and as such the stack is going to take up more space and I might not be able to put the battery inside the body like I had planned... Oh well
Man! Well...you know what they say...Fly, Crash, Repair, Repeat.....Looks like you're gonna be in the repairing phase for a while. Sorry for your luck man, that's really the pitts.
WOW! "If it weren't for bad luck, you would have no luck at all". Well if you have any problems with fixing things I know a really sharp guy who can help you a lot. He is.....oh wait that's you! Hopefully you're up and running soon!

Man I have had those bad days too, but that was just a bit extreme! Sorry for your luck Voodoo, those days are the worst. At least I don't have that many quads to break lol That motor on the Sparrow though! Should make it your avatar pic
I feel for you. I know what it's like. Went out Saturday with 4 working quads and came home with 3 broken. All fixed now but I couldn't seem to stop breaking things. Better luck to you for next time.

I applaude those that design their own stuff. Prototyping can be a nightmare.

One surviving quad means you can go out again the next day.
That's why I'm thinking about increasing my fleet (I usually have only one aircraft flyable at a time). But, as far as i see in this topic, bigger fleet can mean much more repairing!
Feel like constantly chasing perfection. Once you think you almost got it, see how far you are really.
