0 Yes, we used to use what we're called beams four directional CB communication. Very narrow field but far-reaching very little reception behind. Sounds just like the patch that people use. I understand now there is a limit to 2.4. So, are there antennas that are more powerful or sensitive made for say the roof of a house? For non-mobile purposes.

388 You can get what people call a 2.4ghz ground station. I am not familiar with them.

388 When you asked "the receiver side of the controller", I thought you wanted to know about the control side. But you are still referring to video.
So the antenna part still applies. They also do have ground station for video. The video you see is just an over the air broadcast. Exactly like the old TV system. If you have rabbit ears, your reception is not as good as an outdoor antenna. If you get a ground station antenna and point toward your quad direct, you can pick up the video better.
