Anyone flying 3" / 4" LR builds?

It is a big nonsense for several reasons to use 18650 cells in the sub250g category. But that does not mean that the sub250 cannot be LR. You say yourself that you don't fly LR, so I don't understand the resolute statements.

Hi MomoBrut,

You misunderstood. I did NOT say that sub-250 can not do long range.
I said that the 4" Flywoo Explorer does not fly long range on the small
batteries that allow it to be sub-250 as it is too heavy.

Yeah, I have read that entire thread. Still, it doesn't contradict what I
said. Yes, you can build a sub-250 LR craft, however, your build is NOT
the same as a Flywoo Explorer.

If you just look at the way these craft are advertised, it sure seems to
be misleading. They don't make any distinction between what battery
to use. In fact, some of the larger batteries that are recommended
push the weight over 250 grams. It gives the illusion that one can by
an Explorer, strap on any battery, and fly a gool long range flight and
still be under 250 grams. There has been nothing said nor shown
that invalidates my comments.
