Someone gave me two helicopters and I know nothing about helicopters, they are still sat in a flight case in my garage. ![Tongue Tongue](https://intofpv.com/images/smilies/tongue.png) I then bought a Meteor85, Jumper T-Pro and a set of VR02's. Maybe 10 builds later, still flying and building. I got my first quad in 2018, a Mavic 2 Pro when it first came out. I could not wait to fly it and was kind of let down that you don't really fly it, you just tell it what to do... The other downer was that I got it to use in photography and after getting it I found out it isn't allowed most of the places I wanted to use it. But, if it wasn't for it, I never would have stumbled across FPV where I have contracted the addiction. About half a year later, I saw my first FPV video and was totally amazed (JohnnyFPV - The Sky Is Not The Limit). Thus my journey began... Just for grins, here is my first attempt at a fpv quad (if I remember right it was too heavy to take off). Generation Z and Gen Alpha won't be seen dead on those platforms. They spend their time on TikTok and Discord instead with all the other cool kids So you are probably going to end up with skewed results by just asking on here, but the bottom line is that it generally seems to be mostly middle-age to retirement age blokes, and kids with rich parents who can afford to be in this money pit of a hobby The oldest member on here that I know of was keyboard kid who was in his 80's, but he's not logged into the forum since July last year so I hope he's still OK. Anyway, I've just bumped your post back to the top of the list to try and get you a bit more participation • Posts: 472 Threads: 54 Likes Received: 170 in 124 posts Likes Given: 294 Joined: Apr 2023 Reputation: 11 Discord does have huge participation and a younger audience, unfortunately it's just not formatted as well as a forum like this for reference information. • Posts: 2,593 Threads: 77 Likes Received: 1,405 in 1,055 posts Likes Given: 827 Joined: Apr 2022 Reputation: 41 (17-May-2024, 03:30 PM)SnowLeopardFPV Wrote: Only old fogies hang out on forums and Facebook. Half of them can't work out how to switch a light on or open a door. IQ levels plummeted in the last two generations and the world turned into this cotton wool coated, piss take version of how it should be, largely due to the last two generations. Us younger folks might not be able to switch on lights, but we take to the sticks like we were born with em. As for society's collapse, the place already didn't seem so great when I showed up, and I'm 35. I'm sure someday I'll look back with rose colored glasses at my generation and will berate the younger ones, but for now it seems pretty obvious that people are all individuals that can't be grouped quite so readily. Glad to have you older folks to help teach us, but don't forget that at one point you knew nothing at all. Everything has to be learned. Also 35 is very middle ground, neither young nor old. My response was slightly tongue in cheek, but I also don't really approve of kids nowadays. Common sense seems to have gone out the window for the most part. They do stuff that no one in their right mind would do. They seem to blame everything on everyone but themselves. Anyway, the way things seem to be going, maybe we end up with the big reset in the near future. It's sure looking more and more likely. The latest lot are the most moany, depressing set of people I've ever known. Everything that goes wrong is not their fault. They say the latest generation suffers the most from mental health issues and I agree. We seem to have more narcissists and sociopaths in this last generation. Everything is me, me, me. Nothing is their fault. No one wants to take responsibility for anything. They don't seem to realise being a citizen of a country comes with responsibilities as well as rights. Anyway this thread is not good for me. I'm liable to say something bad at some point.
