Active antenna ends
#1
I need some expert advice on this antenna mount. The mount looks cool but the active ends are pretty close to the frame. They are not touching the carbon when its stationary. What do you think?

This is how my FlyWoo Explorer T antenna is mounted. It seems to work fine, but I have not pushed the craft too far. Seven has a diversity RX and one of the antenna is mounted this way, the other is a vertical mount. I have had it out to about a kilometer since shifting to Crossfire and I cannot tell which antenna it is using, but no issues with it at all.

At least it is fairly clear when the craft is turned to the radio. Have always felt it is better to mount the T antennas high on a stalk if oriented horizontally.

I believe your right about mounting vertically for longer range. The mount I got is for closer range. I can’t remember who it was that was making the vertical dipole antennas. I think I’ll look into that. I have no way of knowing other than flying if an antenna design is good or not. Still planning everything out so I’ve got time to research.
