3D Print Tiny Whoop Gate
#1
I hope this is allowed here so please let me know if this is an issue posting...  I was trying to find a CHEAP race gate that I could set up and tear down instantly with little required for storage.  I ended up drawing up an octagon that has a 14" opening using 8 segments and 1/2 stands.  I've posted it on makerworld and you can find it by typing in FPV drone race gate.  I'll avoid posting a link here as I don't want to break any rules.  Note this one cost me a bit under $1.50 to print out. I used squares at the connect point so the hoop won't sag and you get a perfect octagon. I may create a 6-sided one with a bit smaller opening for more of a challenge though I'm not there yet, lol.

You should look into the ones that people made for IGOW last year. They used polypipe and printed joints for it.

Things similar to this.

With those connectors you can buy cheap polypipe and make race cubes. To make circle gates, hula hoops can be used, dog training hoops old circular frisbees. Square gates, use polypipe. Go as low tech (cheap) as you can find. I've always wanted a set of BetaFPV race gates, just haven't got around to buying a set yet. Wink

Posting links to makerworld, thingiverse or any library of 3D designs is fine, as long as it's on topic and relevant.

Oh and there is also a 3D printing area on here, but this thread fits in either area, so don't worry about it.

Thanks!  I saw a couple using the straws method and that's as good as any I suspect.  I was more interested in trying out my printer with my own creation but I suspect that straw setup with all the various connectors works out pretty good.  Either way, thanks!
