Prop Popper Needs to Go into Production

If I try inserting it from the top the duct makes it impossible to apply any lever action (there is few mm of space before hitting the duct). If you insert it inverted, from the bottom sometimes it works, but most often the metal just bends...

This is a "you show me yours and I'll show you mine" touch!   Big Grin Big Grin

The tools are not cast, and can easily be tweaked.  We always go in from the top above the duct. As stated, some have been squeezed to narrow the slot closer to the motor shaft, then thinned flatter at the tip, and that also has the effect of increasing the angle of the main bend, but many just work fine as they are.

Myself and a hoard of 12-18 year olds have never bent a motor shaft nor broken a prop using these tools.

In this last week, I took off and replaced after removing hairs, and also on others swapped props to get a colour change, on E010, JJRC H36, E017, Mobula6, Mobula7, old Inductrix FPV, Eachine QX65 brushed. If I'm removing props I usually do the set and on the brushed 6mm apply with a pin a tiny amount of silicone oil, which makes a distinct improvement in smoothness and power.

Hi BadRaven,

Reminds me of my early days with FPV when all of my quads were E010, E013,
F36, JJRC and many "builds" (more like swapping motors and frames) using the
FC from one of those models. Oh yeah, and mount a Camera/VTX combo pack
on top. I would say nostalgia, except that I still fly them on occasion.

I actually rarely use anything but my fingers to remove props. Yeah, I have
never bent a motor shaft and those .8mm brushed motor shafts don't seem
to be that strong.

By the way, you mentioned the teenagers. Are you a teacher? Is this a school
thing? Do manage some club or group?

Good Job for helping the kids.

Later, iFly   High Five

Tiny Whoops has now introduced a Prop Popper clone.  More expensive than the original, but at least they have it in stock.  According to them it is even better than the original.   Big Grin I ordered one.
