That Ciottifpv stream was for the Analogue version AFAICS.  Largely if not totally irrelevent for the higher weight different components HD?

In case it gets missed in the other thread on the ECO alone, I'll duplicate here.................

Today while "live" with fan blowing and speckle present, while watching the Transporter screen, I carefully unscrewed the four hold down screws clamping (very very tightly) the canopy and boards just enough to release some pressure on the over compressed rubber gummies.

As I did it, the speckle disappeared. Just flown a battery through, going upstairs and so sometimes two brick walls (with no direct signal path through non-aligned open doors) away, and video was clean all the way.

And note............ the screws HM have used are already 10mm but with thin brass washers to avoid them submarining into the rubbers and canopy holes.  10mm was the longest in 1.4mm self tappers I could find and have ordered for my other builds.

Will keep that in mind.. you may want to pass this on in the HDzero discord

… I know this is redundant.. since my radio master ELRS module is on its way.. but has anyone installed a crossfire nano RX on one of these.. it’s 0.5g and would allow someone without ELRS to fly one..
I havnt done a dive into the fc and uarts.. but I was curious

There's only two UART on the board, one for the onboard ELRS and one for the HD VTX.

I really find Discord an awkward process, over rated, annoying and disorganised, just like Faceache.

I have had comms with HM, who have said they will investigate and correct assembly, and the UK agent for HDZ has been passed info and is forwarding to HDZ.

Although HM does not seem to document it, there are two bridges next to the RX2/TX2 pads. Unbridging them should free up the UART so you can solder an external RX to it if you really wanted to add weight to your setup.

Much appreciated guys, it was just food for thought.. when my Tinyhawk freestyle lost its d8 (spi) rx.. I added a external rx and it only had 2 uarts.. figured if I loose tbd rx I could salvage the fc and use it in another build or bench testing
Raven, I also find the discord rather cumbersome and sometimes a PITA to navigate.. not my favorite place.. but just thought in case someone there may have the same issue ..

Also mentioned it before but the sparkle is due to either the screws being too tight or the wires (from FC to VTX) are bunched up between the 2 and creating pressure on the VTX. I spent a day thinking my new ECO was broken after changing the frame (the + pad for the camera did lift up a bit still). Sorted the wires in the middle and its been perfect for 10+ packs now.

… had seen posts on HDZ Facebook “motors studdering”.. I am still waiting for my ELRS MODULE, before I can bind it.. but I still wanted to check my motors /esc.. glad I did… motor #4 was stuttering in the motors tab when bringing up the master slider slow. If I do it quickly.. it will spin, “0”% errors.. and if done independently will not spin Unless it’s at 13000rpms.. the others will spin at 11000. I confirmed it being the motor by swapping motor-plugs.. same thing in #3 position.. it sounds like there maybe some trash in it.. I ordered a replacement .. but I’m gonna tear this motor apart and see if there is anyone inside..
My vtx also get hot fairly fast.. I’m hoping I only have this one motor issue..

My motors feel fine, but there's idle stutter until the throttle is raised, sometimes one motor, sometimes three.  Pretty sure its not the motors!

.. I swapped the #4 and #3 motors (plug) discovered the stutter stayed with the same motor… I then used a 0802 19000kv motor in the #4 esc / plug..no stutter and it began spinning at 11000 rpm’s .. the same as the other motors.. I did disassemble the motor, didn’t see any debris, removed one (bottom) shim, and YES lost the “C” clip when reassembly… felt a little smoother.. but the stutter was still there..
I did notify HDZ, they requested photos / video (normal response I have discovered).. not a big deal, I should receive the motor I ordered this week from GetFPV ..
On a good note, I checked the video in my goggles.. looks clean, crisp.. OSD all set up and rtf .. still havnt bound it (waiting for module), or set up modes..
But I do have to say, that video is friggn NICE..!! Can’t wait to fly it!

Hi Rob,

Do the HDZero goggles use the OSD chip on the FC and Betaflight OSD
same as analog video?

Later, iFly  High Five

I am unaware of any “osd chip” in the goggles… as for the flight controller on THIS quad.. not sure I would have to look, maybe check the specs.. I would guess happy model wouldn’t have built a spacific fc just for this one.. I would think it would be cheaper / easier to use an already existing fc and just add the HDzero vtx and camera.
As for the “same as analog” I think the HDzero vtx delivers its own osd.. but as I think, you CAN turn off the osd in the goggles FROM the goggles..AND I havnt REALY looked at flight footage to see how it effects the recording..
