Video sync / format issue?
#1

So I bought this little 3'' Xhover from a buddy of mine and I always saw this problem in my video feed when spectating him flying at the park with me, but he never had this problem in his goggles, so i'm confused. It seems like the refresh sync gets out of sorts and start displaying the left side of the frame on the right and the right on the left with what would be the right side black matte bar being pushed to the center. The problem is inconsistent and often resolves itself in a matter of a second or two, sometimes 3-5 seconds. When it resolves it usually blinks to black for a split second, leaving me blind, and then the video comes back in the correct format. Its all terribly hard to put into words so I've got the links to the youtube videos of my DVR for reference.

It's so odd that it doesn't happen with my friend's goggles when he's flying but it does with mine.

Goggles: Fatshark HD3

Video Rx: TBS Fusion

Video Tx: TBS Unify Pro 5g8 HV

Antennas: RHCP

Also it's probably worth noting that I run this same exact setup for my 5" that doesn't have any video problems and it's the same equation with the exception of the vtx is the newer unify - the "Unify Pro 32 5G8 HV"

At first I thought it would possibly be a setting on betaflight or something, but then I remembered my friend doesn't see this in his goggles (I wore them and flew it to verify) so now i'm wondering if it's a setting in my fusion? My friend was running RapidFire in his goggles also with RHCP antennas.

Have you set the NTSC or Pal and not leave it auto?

If it is not too much trouble, I would switch the VTX with the one that works. Keep everything else the same.

So I searched and I searched betaflight for that damn video format option until I realized that it must've been removed in an update, womp womp.

So I took SnowLeopard's advice he's given me time and time again and ran a DUMP in the CLI and it turns out it was on AUTO so I set it to NTSC via the CLI and I can't recreate the problem now. Granted, I've yet to go to the field and actually fly it, so there's no power running through the ESCs / Motors, but in my living room with the drone outside and no antennas on my rx I can basically get the video signal down to unusable state of static and the format never falters. So there's a chance that fixed it, we'll see when I get out there again.

This is where the AUTO / PAL / NTSC Video Format setting is on the OSD tab in Betaflight Configurator 10.7.0...

Yea! and to my memory that's exactly where it was and I looked it up on Oscar Liang's site and saw the same screen shot but I swear to you, it's not there. Idk why...

(im too lazy to go grab my drone and plug in + take a screen shot at this very moment)

What FC do you have?

Can you please run both the "dump" and "diff all" commands in the Betaflight Configurator CLI tab and copy/paste the results back here. We'll then see if we can figure out what might be causing the issue.
