Unable to get falcon f4 to talk to r-xsr.
#1
I am building a 3" tooth fairy with a heli-nation falcon f4 flight controller and a r-xsr  receiver. The falcon has two built in invertors for sbus rx1 and s-port rx3/tx3. I am unable to get falcon f4 to talk to r-xsr. I do not see data from the receiver in betaflight and butterflight receiver tabs. I did the set tim half-duplex off and got telmertry working. The receive binds to the taranis. I have a solid red and a blinking green on the falcon f4. I tried the hold the bind button on the receiver to make sure i was not in ppm mode. I flashed the r-xsr to new f-port firmware. I tried to run f-port on the rx3/tx3 port. I got nothing. I moved the s-port wire to rx4 and typed the cli commands from the Oscar Lang How to f4 and unhacked signal. I still don't get data. I tried different ports, protocols, and firmware.  Next i was going to swap a xsr over and try it. I would of done that but the pin out on the connector is different. so i have to take it off another quad and solder it on to this one. I was hoping it was something in the firmware i overlooked, so i could type in the cli  before taking two quads apart.

So neither SBUS nor SmartPort are working? You should at least have SBUS working without touching CLI.
Is the R-XSR getting a solid green light when the Taranis is powered on?
I really think you should try the R-XSR on a different FC, just to make sure it's actually working. Or try the XSR on the Falcon.

Remember, SBUS goes to a UART RX and S. Port goes to UART TX.

You need to see solid blue light on R-XSR to be in SBUS mode.

My advice, reflash back to normal firmware. Wire SBUS OUT (R-XSR has two SBUS pin) to SBUS RX1 and S.Port to FC TX3. Then post photos of wiring. Do your setting in BFC and post a file of your dump.

Here is the dump file. My r-xsr has red light on till I turn on the taranis, then it turns green. I have another quad to get a xsr off and to try the r-xsr, but it is a f3 flight controller. I can't solder anything till Sunday. I will flash the r-xsr back to  the normal firmware.

I made sure I used the sbus out. The xrs has a white for sbus and a green for ppm, The r-xsr has white wire for sbus in and a green sbus out. When you look at it, you would hook it up wrong. I double checked before soldering. I got the falcon f4 because it had two inverters for sbus and s-port.  I figured if I used f-port, I would take sbus out of the equation. I had telemetry, so s-port was working, and f-port used s-port wire.

If you don't want to reflash, you have to move s. Port wire to TX3. Change serial rx to UART 3 in port tab. It should work.

The rest of your setting in dump file is correct for F. Port

You also need to see blue light.

I tried tx 3 first,  because it had an inverter to run f-port.  I held the bind button to change the r-xsr to sbub instead of ppm. It didn't work. I need to swap parts Sunday with known good stuff and go from there. Thanks for the help so far.

Played with the bind button and got the blue led. Going to flash the firmware and put it back together Sunday. sbus to rx1, s-port to tx3. Thanks for the help.

Bind button broke on the r-xsr, replaced it with used xsr.  Its flying now.
