Wanted to build a lightweight 3" to compare to a typical 1407 build so designed a new lightweight and compact frame
Using old rcx 1304 5000kv which are still superb motors considering how old they are now and at only £28/$36 a set delivered I couldn't resist.
These motors are about on par performance and weight with the new emax rs1106 4500kv but nearly half the price
Also found some new tiny esc's from HGLRC, only 0.8g each and 13a rated for 2-3s which are performing great so far, although i prefer the cleanliness of a 4in1 I hate the reliability and much prefer to replace one esc if needed.
Frame weighs in at only 19.5g for 3mm bottom plate and seems a bit overkill, but nice and reassuringly strong as I have had my friends flying or at least trying to learn to fly with it although admittedly its probably a little quick for a beginner quad but virtually no damage can be done to something which weighs so little!
85g dry weight and 130g with 450mah 3s
got some dvr but was preeetty windy!
