Tiny whoop rx loss
#1
Hi guys! I’ve got the betafpv advanced kit 2 with the meteor 75x whoop. It flew pretty great for the beginning, then I had motor problems, which are still there but I can live with them (every time I arm the whoop, one or two motors don’t spin well or don’t spin at all, so sometimes I just unplug and plug the lipo and it works, and if that doesn’t work, I arm and disarm the whoop a couple of time, but sometimes it just won’t take off anymore, but that’s not the problem here. So now my problem is that I have A LOT of failsafes (RX LOSS). And when I say a lot, it’s pretty much every time I fly, I get an rx loss. So that has happening to me for like a couple of weeks now, but until now, it was "ok" to fly. Sometimes it worked well but some other times, it just failsafed every 10 seconds. Today I was flying, like always, very cautious and very low bc of that problem, but suddenly I get an RX LOSS and my whoop just keeps flying to the sky and lands on the road... So it was almost driven over by a car... So do any of you have a simple solution? Is it the esc board, the whoop, the transmitter? Anyways, I just bought my second quad (Nazgul5 4s analog) and I hope it’ll be better even by using the same gear, but I’d really like to keep my whoop. Any Solutions?

Hi marc,

This is just a guess, but it could be the FC board. Since everything, including the receiver is on a single board, there are few options to try individual components. If it were mine, I would try swapping the FC for a different one. I believe the 75x has plug in motors, so the swap should be pretty easy if you get a new board that has the motor connectors installed. If you don't mind soldering, then there are even more options for an FC board.

Although you could get a replacement that is just like the one in the quad, you might also consider something different. The Mobula whoops get a lot of decent reviews so that board might be an option for you.  I have a GEPRC board in my Tiny-Black-85 whoop build and it flies really good.

While I hesitate to make a specific recommendation, I have listed a few boards that I would consider. These FC boards all appear to have the motor connectors already attached so that should make swapping the boards pretty easy. I believe the also have an embedded FrSky compatible Rx receiver. Before buying, research the board or boards you are considering. Things to watch for are the motor connectors and the placement of the USB connector; down or out the side. Get one that has the same location as the 75x, I believe it is DOWN rather than on the side.

This BetaFPV F405 board is recommended for the 75X and appears to a direct replacement.
This CrazyBee F4 Pro board for the Mobula and SailFly might be a good board.
Here is a GEPRC F4 board that would also be a good choice.

So, now my whoop doesn‘t even connect to my Literadio 2 se... When I power it up, it does the usual sounds ( dee dee dee, dee dee dee, dee deeeee) that’s the sound it makes when the binding is successful. But now my whoop just keeps blinking yellow constantly and doesn’t connect to my transmitter.. Does anyone have a solution for that?? Thanks, Marc.
