I built my first tiny trainer. zeus nano vtx, ELRS ep2, betafpv toothpick aio with the 533 tt motors. Ive only flown this in my backyard twice without doing rolls or flips. But then I tried to do a roll with full stick deflection and it just fell out of the sky(air mode off). It will do a roll when I don't use full stick deflection. If I cut throttle I will lose control of the quad as it falls to the ground. I was able to regain control last second. I turned on air mode and the quad will not do a roll at all with or without full stick deflection. Also lose control when I cut throttle without doing rolls or flips. Gyro is working. Running bf 4.3.1. I also turned off bidirectional shot. Am running the Evan tiny trainer preset. What can be the issue?

Any specific reason you want air mode turned off?
Im flying in acro mode. No there is no reason to have it off. I just wanted to show that i could do a slow roll without full stick deflection with airmode off but cannot do so with airmode on.
I have not see this kind of behaviour before in acro mode.
Unless its the timing on your sticks. I usually throttle up just before the roll, then zero throttle, initiate the roll and throttle back after completing the roll to recover.
I assume you have the sticks on the radio calibrated?
Did you try the stock Betaflight tune as a test to rule out the pid tune?
