The Drone Delivery Pipe Dream Ends
#1
After all the BS and nonsensical rules and regulations that have been imposed on our hobby in order to clear the 0-400ft airspace for the likes of a network of delivery drones, it seems that what we suspected all along is very likely never going to happen. Unfortunately the regulations imposed on us are now already written in stone and implemented, for no good reason or purpose. Hopefully this is also yet more evidence to help try and kill Remote ID.
Bruce shares his thoughts in the video below...

Well look at it from another perspective: If no more drone delivery then no more licensing fees for the government to charge, no more funds, no more enforcement.

Basically with the drone delivery concept out of the way, hopefully we can soon forget this nightmare.

Hi Kafie,

If only that were the case. It doesn't look like it in the USA.

The FAA is going to use CBOs to add requirements...smooth easy, and without any "additional" formal regulation.
From what I can tell the CBOs can be used to just keep adding requirements.

CBOs = FAA Adding NEW Requirements! - Comment NOW!

Yet more dominoes begin to tumble. DHL now follows Amazon by also abandoning their plans for delivery using aerial drones...

This would be hilarious if it actually meant the brain trust at the FAA would backtrack on all this douchebaggery. Unfortunately, I doubt that will be the case.

They wanted the airspace, that much is obvious. They got it and it does not matter to the FAA how they accomplished it. They got rid of those pesky drones that scare the sheep. I see 20 questions a day on question and answer forums about how these boring nobodies believe "I am being spied on by drones"...wish they could understand how disinteresting their existence actually is...

Just a rant.

I was about to arm this 4" micro long range so I had these super funky helical antennas sticking out of my goggles which evidently caught the attention of this one particular male karen walking his obviously manicured dog ... "you gonna spy on some people with that drone?" ... to which I responded without skipping a beat, "I'm gonna see how far I can fly this $500 toy without crashing it.  You wanna play?" ... the look on his face doing the math was precious.  You see, a-holes only speak a-hole-ese.  So you gotta speak down to them on terms that they understand.  I-Am-Richer-Than-You > Male-Karen all. friggin. day. long.

Thumbs Up

Yeah, people just don't realize how BORING their existence is to others. They also don't realize that they look like ants from a drone that is more than a hundred feet away... just a speck on the earth...nothing more.

They watch too many "spy" movies...you know, where a satellite can see a fly on their arse from miles above the earth...and actually care.
