0 Hello intofpv. I have the Lumineer Lux F7. I am currently using betaflight and I would like to switch to inav so that i can perform autonomous flights. I need to know exactly how to go about removing the betaflight software/firmware. Or is it even necessary? Is it possible to have two different software/firmware sources loaded on the same flight controller & be able to easily switch between the two whenever necessary? Also, being that the Lux F7 is compatible with inav, is it safe to assume the it will also work with other autonomous flight sources such as Qground control, Mission planner, PX4...?

65 When you are on the FIRMWARE FLASHER tab of the INAV Configurator: When you flash INAV on to your FC, make sure you have selected FULL CHIP ERASE. This will wipe the ROM clean and load INAV fresh. There no way (with the FC as purchased) to load two separate firmwares. You have to choose which one you want.
I know Mission Planner is one of the features, but so far I have not been experimenting with it at all. There are several videos on YouTube and it looks like it works nicely!
Just a side note, I have found BetaFlight to be way easier to tune for pure freestyle flying. INAV takes a bit more work and really feels different in the air. Be prepared for some fiddling to get things flying smoothly.

OMG, no one told me it would be this much fun! Addicted :)

0 Thanks Kaitylynn. I really appreciate your feedback. I just had a thought! Would it make more sense to just buy another SD card for Mission Planner, leave betaflight on the current card and just swap cards whenever? I have a 700 quad using Mission Planner and it's SOLID with really no tuning at all after fitting it with the right props. I do understand that might not be the case with this mini quad. But I'm very familiar with Mission Planner and I really like having autonomous flight capabilities so I'll give that a try. When I'm able to afford a good set of fpv goggles I'll give freestyle another shot.

388 SD card on betaflight is only for Blackbox. Unless you Blackbox all your flight, there isn't a reason to have a SD card in all the time.

0 Did you have any issues getting iNav on the Lux F7? I have 2 of them. A virgin out of the wrapper and an older one and I can not get iNav on either one. I can get into DFU mode no prob and EmuFlight or BetaFlight goes on no problem. iNav flash fw does nothing at all, no messages no actions, nothing. I am using the correct Matek F722 SE target as well. Latest version of iNav as of last night.

388 That is interesting. No one else have asked this question. Here is something to try. Download the hex file and use the BFC to flash. In BFC flasher, you will see an option to pick a local file. See if that works.
