Runcam Night Eagle
#1
Does anyone know where I can get a case for the original Runcam Night Eagle?  Runcam doesn't have one for the original version.  Haven't been able to locate one elsewhere.  Two of the four screw holes are stripped.  I thought about packing the holes with epoxy, drilling and threading into the epoxy....not sure it'll work though....would rather replace the case.  Thanks.

I don't know anything about the Night Eagle....will the RunCam Swift case work?  I have two of those that are essentially unused, you can have one if you think it will work.

Thanks John, I appreciate the offer, but unfortunately it will not.  That first run of the Night Eagle looked a lot like the other cases, but the PCB wont fit in any of the other cases.  Thanks anyway!! Thumbs Up   I have a Night Eagle Pro 2 I could use, but I hate to throw this one away....it works great and I would like to keep using it. Cry

Same case. Unless you are referring to the silver case.

If it was me, I would look to drill out the holes and either press or epoxy in some M2 brass inserts. On the Runcam Eagle Pro 2 the thickness of the case where the screws go in is 3mm (the Eagle Pro 2 actually has brass inserts in the case from the factory).

You can get M2 x 3mm brass inserts from Amazon for not a lot of money...

If the eagle 2 case doesn't fit. Can't you epoxy the screw holes and retap?

Edit: snow beat me to it.

Yeah it's the silver one...it's deeper then the Eagle 2 and the holes are not in the same position.

Yeah...I was leaning towards this if I couldn't just find another case.  Thanks for the link to the inserts...headed that way now. Smile

I think this is it. Because the original Eagle has a double pcb, it should be the same as the night eagle. But I am just assuming.

I used to buy from this site when I first started. I believe Runcam owns it. They always have spare parts for Runcam when no one else had them.

Good to know.....they are out of stock at the moment, but I'm on the list to be notified when they get some.  In the mean time I'll attempt to fix the old one.  Thanks a bunch Voodoo!  Smile
