I have just got the Reptile Falcon 220, fitted an RX and took it out for a maiden. As per the title, extremely sensitive, but only on the roll axis!? I adjusted the roll super rate in stages, all the way down to 0, Still crazy sensitive. Then after that, the RC rate down to 0.25, had to increase pitch super rate right up to compensate. Obviously pitch handles horribly like this, but... Even with these crazy rates, roll is still very sensitive. Originally I tried the default settings the FC came with, then updated the FC, still no joy. Downloaded ButterFlight and installed that, trying something else, just... Y'know, because! I tried angle mode, and it wanted to freak out, so I disabled the ACC. No change. Tried OneShot 125, as well as DShot 600 & 300, nothing helps! Still the same problem. I'm starting to think the FC is bad, anyone have any ideas, please? I curiously to see. What is the degree/sec do you have currently on roll? • Posts: 1,504 Threads: 83 Likes Received: 944 in 654 posts Likes Given: 2,142 Joined: Sep 2016 Reputation: 24 Roll currently set at 50 degrees per second, and pitch 658 degrees per second, I usually have rates at around 900 deg/sec. I get some really strong bounce back too. If I roll almost 90 degrees (in under 0.5 seconds), on releasing the stick the model bounces back to almost level, as if the PID controller is recognizing where the model should be at the end of the maneuver, at the current rate setting. Ill try and get a BB log and video tomorrow... Kaity- I have set up a new profile on the TX, but I'll try that again and I will test the RX in a different model on Christmas day... Thanks guys... For sure, it is probably something simple. Only reason thinking about radio profile is that I messed up my mixer settings on one messing around and had to start from scratch to get it all straightened out. Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas Tom!!! SoCal Kaity :D OMG, no one told me it would be this much fun! It's been a while ! glad you are doing well and still flying! Another thing I want to suggest is updating the configurator GUI, then re-flash the board with latest firmware? Do you fly another quad with the same radio and Model profile? Just to rule out it's the radio that's causing the issue • Posts: 1,504 Threads: 83 Likes Received: 944 in 654 posts Likes Given: 2,142 Joined: Sep 2016 Reputation: 24 Hey Oscar, Happy Christmas buddy! I have been really busy the last few months, but I'm getting back to sunny South Africa on the 31st, in time for the new years parties! So I will definitely be more active on the forum than I have been recently. Coming back to England towards the end of April, so hopefully we'll have another chance to fly together in the summer... Yeah, initially I cloned one of my other model profiles on the TX, (that model still flies perfectly) then after getting the weird behaviour, did a fresh setup, but still getting this roll problem... Re. the configurator - I downloaded ButterFlight specifically to try and fix this issue, so the configurator and flashed FW are both the most recent. I'll get an SD card in the FC and get a Black Box log, so you Black Box guru's can see the issues... In the video I have reverted to RC rate -> 1.00 and reduced Super Rate on roll to -> 0, so you can see just how over sensitive it is. It looks like motor 3 is acting weird and cause you to roll to the left and pitch forward. May swap both motor and ESC to the opposite side. When you death roll, does it always do it to the left? • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 • |
