So I went to the park to fly my first pack and well... I ripped it a little too hard and a little too long. Whoops. 

I stopped paying attention to the battery level at some point and I guess my OSD isn't set up properly to warn me about low voltage so the only place it was telling me was at the top left on the actual voltage meter. Guess I need to make a big flashing warning sign dead center or I wont see it. 

The poor thing just fizzles out lol.

With your current osd setup, a rule I go by with that meter is to stop flying as soon as that battery symbol starts blinking (if you can pay attention to it lol). The reason I bring this up (not to assume you don't already know), is that fully discharging a lipo even once will drastically degrade its lifespan, and it would suck to have a similar first season as myself...

I puffed up a bunch of 1s lipos by doing this (both dangerous and a waste of $), and wasted multiple 4s packs my first season by over-discharging via LOS flying, then doubling down on the degradation by not balance charging... my peak frustration was getting out there and realizing half my lipos can't even give me 2 minutes of flight time. I vastly underestimated battery care with this hobby as many do.

you need to place the betaflight warnings.
i placed them nearly in the middle of the screen.

another thing is to get handling of your battery performence, if you know how the perform, you will feel it while fly. i beleive you was much more throttle than usual when the voltage start to drop under 13v...

the current meter can give you informations about the used capacity, probably you need to calibrate.

Yea watch out man you can really shorten the life of your lipos if you drain them all the way lol.

I’ve worked with Lipos in the film industry enough to know what I did will have hurt my battery for sure. The thing is I didn’t even know I was doing it when I did it. But I’ll continue to fly this pack and see how it performs. I am balance charging, and now I’m landing when I see voltage sag to around 13.5v during a full throttle punch out.

Now I know!

And yea I’ve since moved my battery warning to the middle of my screen and it actually saved me the other day. It popped up mid flight when my battery level had once again escaped my mind.

Yes it is sad when that happens.

I have yet to completely kill a battery and am still using one with one of the cells puffed out the side. Meh it works and seems to get pretty good flight times and cells are at similar voltages when charging. I do charge it sitting on a concrete floor so don't really trust it not to go bang one day .

Now I have a rule when I hit 3.6v I start heading home as they drop really fast once below 3.4v and have dropped out of the sky a couple of times especially on 2s.
