121 09-Feb-2023, 08:05 PM (This post was last modified: 09-Feb-2023, 08:06 PM by Lemonyleprosy.) It was a while ago, but I believe I had to recalibrate my e-steps.
Also had to adjust my retraction settings on all of my filament presets.
Dangerous operations.
Disclaimer: I don’t know wtf I’m talking about.
I wish I could get the smell of burnt electronics out of my nose.

118 10-Feb-2023, 12:18 AM (This post was last modified: 10-Feb-2023, 12:19 AM by kafie1980.) e-steps will need to be recalibrated as the direct drive might have a slight different gear drive ratio compared to your bowden setup.
Retraction is set lower on direct drives compared to bowden, much lower since in a bowden setup the filament may flex and move inside the tube.
You might even need to adjust jerk and acceleration settings since now you have a heavier print head with a direct drive when compared to a bowden setup.

8 Thanks everyone! I re-calibrated my e-steps, and my first test print came out great! I definitely like the direct feed better than the Bowden tube, I am able to print almost twice as fast as before, but with better results!
