I emailed RDQ and mentioned this, they are going to look into it, and I figured I'd do some research for them. Why cut and hack a $20 antenna, when a $3 extension could avoid that? Perhaps email them if you are interested. I posted this question on their Facebook page as well. • Posts: 5,851 Threads: 47 Likes Received: 2,775 in 2,237 posts Likes Given: 7,601 Joined: Jul 2019 Reputation: 97 U.FL extensions on AMAZON {standard for VTX}...no shipping {at least if you have Prime, we do}, fast delivery, no minimum order. U.FL IPex4 on AMAZON {the smaller connectors for FrSky XM+} ... no shipping, fast delivery, no minimum order. AMAZON has carried these extensions {and many other extensions, cables, pigtails, etc.} for quite some time. There is nothing wrong with buying from AMAZON. They actually carry quite a vast selection of things for quads { and NOT all toy grade, either}. They carry, bolts, standoffs, assorted small items, etc... if fact, it might surprise you what you can buy on AMAZON. They also have the best delivery system on the planet....and FREE shipping on most items for Prime members....and... NO Minimum order. What's not to like. Sometimes things cost a little more, but not always...plus Free shipping and no minimum order often makes up the difference. Yes, you do have to comparison shop...and...Yes, you do have to watch the cost, but it is certainly worth looking at. I have been using these extensions from AMAZON for quite some time with No issues. Just sayin'...check AMAZON and see it they have what you want. • Posts: 277 Threads: 54 Likes Received: 54 in 48 posts Likes Given: 10 Joined: Mar 2020 Reputation: 3 It's not that I have anything against Amazon, but I haven't ordered anything from them. Not purposefully, I just have chosen other options that are more convenient for me. The reason I emailed RDQ, is if I'm spending $2-3-400+, I don't want to have to order from another company to 'complete' my order. Especially for only a few dollar part. I would like to be able to order everything I need from one place, and have it all show up in the same shipment. Yea, I want my cake, eat it, AND I want ice cream too! I know mmcx and sma are more popular, but, even the Fatshark Sharkbite is U.fl. Maybe not that many find a need to extend their antenna. I think, and I certainly could be wrong, as the long range quads get more popular, I think more people may be doing so. Just a thought. Sure, a one-stop-shop. BUT, I will not buy from Banggood or AliExpress and they are the closest to a one-stop-shop. You might actually find everything on Banggood, but when you get it...and...it might not all be in one shipment...is a totally different issue. While you are at it, see if RDQ will stock the plethora of other miscellaneous items...how about landing pads, all of the assorted electronic accessories, connectors, and a wide selection of standoff columns and bolts in assorted sizes...how about a kit with several lengths of M2 bolts, antenna tubes, carbon fiber sheets, and the list just goes on and on.... from what I have seen nobody carries everything. Actually, from my experience PyroDrone carries more of the assorted extras than RDQ. But hey, what ever works.... • Posts: 277 Threads: 54 Likes Received: 54 in 48 posts Likes Given: 10 Joined: Mar 2020 Reputation: 3 I figured, that's why I inquired. If we don't ask, they won't know. I've asked a local convenience store to see if they would consider stocking a certain item. Not only did they get it in stock, they then had other customers now interested in buying it as well. True story. I think with as niche as this hobby is, I would think that vendors would listen to their customers. I don't know how many people work at RDQ or GetFPV, but I can't imagine much more than a dozen people. I don't picture a huge office complex with 20 people just answering phones. I see a handful of 20-30 year olds, in a warehouse just having a good time, and liking their job. Again, I could be wrong. Real nice in this day and time to see a vendor listening and responding to a customer's request. • Posts: 277 Threads: 54 Likes Received: 54 in 48 posts Likes Given: 10 Joined: Mar 2020 Reputation: 3 (06-Apr-2021, 03:53 PM)livefpv Wrote: RDQ is actually spending their time/funds plus donations to advocate for our hobby... Real nice in this day and time to see a vendor listening and responding to a customer's request. I totally agree. I have found a decent amount of people that are interested, and I told them to email RDQ. I just posted another inquiry on the RDQ Facebook Group page to check the status. I'd be proud as a peach if this actually happens • Posts: 277 Threads: 54 Likes Received: 54 in 48 posts Likes Given: 10 Joined: Mar 2020 Reputation: 3 I think I heard some good news this morning, i got another reply from RDQ! By the sounds of it, a lot of people have responded to my posts regarding this, and many of them must have emailed RDQ. This inquiry has made it all the way up to the Regional Director at RDQ! I wouldn't put huge money on it, but I have a feeling this -could- happen • Posts: 39 Threads: 5 Likes Received: 13 in 12 posts Likes Given: 27 Joined: Nov 2020 Reputation: 2 It's the little things...
