Racerstar RS30A V2 and Racerstar RS30AL Differences?
#1
What is the difference between these Racerstar RS30AL ESCs and the Racerstar RS30A V2 ESCs?

I see that the RS30AL have a 40A Peak and RGB LEDs, and support 2-5S. The RS30A V2 have a 35A Peak and support 2-4S.

I have the Racerstar BR2205 2300KV motors and I am shopping for ESCs to use with them. I am currently running Multishot and plan to continue using Multishot with whatever new ESCs I decide to get. I am assuming both support BlHeli Passthrough as it works with my current Racerstar RS20A V1s (BB1). From the product descriptions, those are the only differences as far as I can tell. Am I missing any other differences or key information? Right now on BangGood, the RS30A V2's are on sale for $46.99 while the RS30AL are on sale for $9.99 when bought individually so $39.96 for 4 ESCs. I am thinking I should get the RS30AL as they have a higher burst AMP rating but the differences between the 2 are slightly unclear. I have a Wizard X220 with the Matek PDB it came with as well as a SP Racing F3 Flight Controller. I always run 4S lipos as well.

Any clarification or help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same motors and use the RS30A V2's, they run perfectly.
I can't see much of a difference apart from the RGB LED's and higher burst amps. Perhaps there is something else we're missing but I think either one would suite you fine.

RS30A are proven to be relatively good hardware. Ignore the burst rating. Those motors would run fine even on 20a ESCs Wink
Find me on Youtube and Instagram. I currently fly: DRC Aura, NOX5R, Minimalist 112 and drive a scrap RC car

According to the descriptions, aside from the LED, the RS30AL is 2-5S. The RS30A is only 2-4S.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I have been running the RS30A v2s for a week or so now and it feels like these respond quicker, smoother, and seems to have better throttle position accuracy. In automotive terms, it feels like my current setup with the RS30A v2s (w/ Racerstar BR2205 2300kV Motors) have better "throttle response" compared to my old setup that had the RS20A v1s (w/ the garbage OEM Wizard Motors). I am guessing that this is caused by the better motors and faster BB2 ESCs but that is just my best guess. Is this nothing more than placebo or am I correct?

Its obvious to me that the BB2 is alot faster than the BB1, twice as fast to be specific.Regardless if the slight increase in throttle response is an actual performance gain or if it is purely placebo; the price difference between the BB1 + BB2 RS30A ESC is $20 which is quite drastic. I currently am running Multishot but as far as I can tell even the RS20A v1 (BB1) can run DSHOT150 + DSHOT300. What I am getting at is what are the advantages of an ESC with a BB2 processor and are the effects noticeable? At what point does one reach the limitations of a BB1 ESC and need to switch to a BB2 unit? I got a good friend of mine into the hobby and he is going to build a quad which will be his first. I am guiding him on which parts he should get without breaking the bank. Is it worth it to buy an ESC with a BB2 chip even though it costs almost twice as much?

I really think the motors are what is the most difference as far as your flying perception. You would probably not notice the difference between BB1 vs BB2.
