Jumper t8sg plus - $100 Taranis q x7 - $140 with Batt and charger Frsky x-lite s $140 Frsky x-lite $120 now It seems for 20.00 more, I can get the x-lite. I'll be using these with simulators for now, but plan to fly 3 and 5inch quads in the future. • Posts: 668 Threads: 31 Likes Received: 208 in 158 posts Likes Given: 95 Joined: Feb 2019 Reputation: 14 I'm biased but by looks I still prefer my QX7 , it seems a more thought radio. The x-lite should be great also if you use only thumbs to control the sticks, it seems hard to pinch on that. The advantage of the jumper is really the multiprotocol capability and also I watched some reviews and the quality seems good too. Really hard to decide. What about the x9 lite? It seems really nice and have a lot of good reviews. • Posts: 12,098 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 09-Sep-2019, 10:20 PM (This post was last modified: 09-Sep-2019, 10:22 PM by voodoo614.) It really comes down to what you value, or the form factor you like. They will get you up in the air. And you will likely get used to whatever controller you use. I know this does not answer your question. But maybe tell us what you want in a radio and those with hands on experience can tell you what might be best for you. Example, pincher or thumber. Built in charger or external charging. You get the point. • Posts: 435 Threads: 76 Likes Received: 226 in 130 posts Likes Given: 154 Joined: Aug 2019 Reputation: 6 (09-Sep-2019, 10:20 PM)voodoo614 Wrote: It really comes down to what you value, or the form factor you like. I do eventually want to have precision control over my flying, and have a girl factor that is easy to transport • Posts: 12,098 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 Sounds like the X-Lite S would be best. Thumb friendly and compact for transport. Also the "S" has Hall Effect gimbals. If you play video game, you will like the X-Lite. Although pincher are supposed to have more control. But I have seen both good pincher and thumber pilots. I think thumbing is the most natural for me but I'm willing to learn pinching since I'm early in.. • Posts: 6,113 Threads: 172 Likes Received: 2,287 in 1,834 posts Likes Given: 4,737 Joined: Feb 2019 Reputation: 100 10-Sep-2019, 06:05 AM (This post was last modified: 10-Sep-2019, 06:10 AM by hugnosed_bat.) how they feel in the hands is individualy, everyone should try a bit pinching and thumbing - but there is no need to change aslong as you feel confortable. i beleive its brainwork and thumb or pinch dont make a true difference. if you can hold one in your hands befor buy would help a bit. as voodoo wrote, the xlite is very handy. the jumpert16 is very small and the x9 light is on the small side. the qx7 is huge, the x9d isnt small aswell. Would you take the frsky x-lite or the x9d plus given the same price ??? • Posts: 12,098 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 X9D plus if the price was the same. But unfortunately, they are not. And there is a significant difference. Why not the Xlite Pro? I thought I saw somewhere BG was having a sale right now its like less than $100 crazyyyy. [edit] Sorry went to go check its $176 at 20% off. Still better than $200. Drone Mesh's spreadsheet has 20% off coupon "BGADX9L." • Posts: 435 Threads: 76 Likes Received: 226 in 130 posts Likes Given: 154 Joined: Aug 2019 Reputation: 6 (11-Sep-2019, 02:23 AM)voodoo614 Wrote: X9D plus if the price was the same. If the qx7 with r9 used was the same would you take it over the frsky x-lite ? • Posts: 6,113 Threads: 172 Likes Received: 2,287 in 1,834 posts Likes Given: 4,737 Joined: Feb 2019 Reputation: 100 11-Sep-2019, 09:12 PM (This post was last modified: 11-Sep-2019, 09:18 PM by hugnosed_bat.) i personaly wouldnt use r9, if i am looking for a transmitter, i would wait for the tbs tango2 and use crossfire. qx7 isnt fully compatible with crossfire... i wouldnt choose it again. x9d would be the only one i have a look at because of crossfire compatibility.. You are ahead with qx7 with r9. you get both short and long range. but it is used. If I had to choose, I would get the qx7 with r9 and get new gimbels. this is personal preference. the qx7 is much larger and isn't as portable. which isn't what you are looking for. the x-lite is a nice controller and seem to fit your needs most. if you want to go with Crossfire, the X9D is the best choice. • Posts: 435 Threads: 76 Likes Received: 226 in 130 posts Likes Given: 154 Joined: Aug 2019 Reputation: 6 (11-Sep-2019, 10:28 PM)voodoo614 Wrote: Kinda of a hard choice. Well like a true noob, I went ahead and got both. If I like the qx7 more, it is cheaper, and I can return the brand new frsky x-lite, but if I prefer the x-lite, I can sell the qx7 with all the batteries and trimmings for the 100 I got it for. Thank you so much everyone. • Posts: 12,098 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,739 in 2,836 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 Good way to figure out what you want. |
