I was toying with the silhouette of a quad with a mountain range in the background, but I doubt the level of detail necessary could be achieved in an icon.   I'm good with whatever anyone else wants.   I shouldn't even be in this conversation...haven't even got mine flying yet .....but soon.....

It's almost finished...just waiting on some biBlade 7042's and I have to finish installing the GPS.  I'll post a few pics when I get it finished, the maiden long range may be a little while.  I will use it around here until I get it all configured like I want and make sure the fail safe works properly, etc.  With the Navy base here and so many airports, it would be difficult, if not impossible to do a long range flight (legally) from here.  I'll have to get out of town a ways.  I will be looking forward to your comments!

It doesn't have to be the only distance badge, we can have 5Km or even 10Km in the future if you guys feel up to it LOL

I'm ok with either icon...although I was hoping for something with a little humor like the "pole dancer", "posting freak", etc.  But if you ask me what I got to make that happen, I got nothing....

As for distance, again I'm ok with what the consensus ends up being.  But given there is a movement starting towards flying wings, reaching a lesser distance than 5K will be extremely easy with a wing.  Even for quads, the long range guys are consistently getting out to 10K+.  I would say not less than 3K though.  And when I say 3K or 5K, that is oneway, right?

The forum system can't handle a bunch of badges, if I remember correctly.  If there is room for several badges on this part of the hobby, maybe a medium range badge and a long range badge.  Just throwing ideas out there.....  Maybe even an extreme long range badge for the first member to get out to 100Km, or 200Km...

Maybe something like this will work? Using colors instead of numbers. We could set numbers in hover description.

Also additional idea - endurance badge, again, aimed at wings as those can cruise for over an hour 'easily'
