Problems with Avatar HD V2
#1
Hi, im new to fpv drones and i just build one. I have a SkyStars F722 HD Pro 4 and a walksnails Avatar HD v2 kit. The problem  is, whatever i do, i cant make the VTX to show Ready in betaflight. I soldered my VTX TO FC, by switching TX/RX between FC and VTX, to UART4. For power i use the +10V pad next to UART4. I use the 4.4.3 firmware and i followed this tutorial to set the VTX : https://oscarliang.com/setup-avatar-fpv-system/#Connecting-Air-Unit-to-FC.
In Port tab i select VTX(MSP+Displaypot), MSP function automatically is selected, i go to Presets tab and select OSD for Fpv.wtf, DJI O3, Avatar HD preset then the ExpressLRS 250 Hz preset, i select HD in the OSD tab. After i save and reboot in the Video Transmitter i can see "VTX Type: MSP' but Device Ready is False. On the FC i have some pads for PIT and +5/+10V mode. The 3 pads for PIT mode are soldered to PIT and the pads for voltage are soldered for 10V.
In Modes tab i have a User1 mode set for switching the VTX PIT on and off. Its working because if i flip the switch to PIT mode the green led from VTX go off, when i flip back the switch the green led start to blinck again. But when i arm my drone and fly it my camera doesnt record. I can access its internal memory and is empty. I dont have my googles yet since they are more expensive than my drone but i will buy them later. The VTX go ready only it is paired with the googles? Because so far what ever i do i cant make the internal DVR of the VTX to record video. I ve tried to find some help to Discord channels but all of them pointed me to the same link from oscarliang.
The only thing i havent done yet is to give up and declare the VTX faulty, but i hope someone here could help me fix this problem

There is definitely two way communication between goggles and vtx, I am not sure there are many people who have tried to fly the vtx without the goggles or VRX. If the goggles are too expensive, consider getting the VRX module which is significantly cheaper and will work with a monitor/pc screen/or other goggles that accept an HDMI input.
I am not sure the default settings for recording, maybe it is set to record on goggles only? you would need to connect your vtx to a pair of goggles/vrx to verify the settings. Also not sure if an unbound vtx would actually record or not, you might want to check with Caddx support if you don't plan to purchase goggles. But there are better recording options if you don't want an actual FPV feed and just wish to record, such as a Runcam Thumb Pro or other action camera.
If your objective is to test the VTX, then maybe find a friend who has the WS goggles/VRX and have them bind to your VTX for testing.

There is a bit going on here, and some confusion as well -- I am not sure, but beware that digital Video systems as with the likes of Walksnail and DJI do not use VTX tables or even the VTX tab as all, and configuration for the VTX is done from within the Googles or the VRX system --  There is still OSD but your not going to see that.

You may need to borrow some Walksnail Googles, and set the record settings to record on ARM, as well Format the VTX 32G storage as before recordings will operate, other than that I would say it maybe just about impossible to setup the Walksnail system up without Goggles or a Walksnail VTX connected to a monitor or similar.

I know digital VTX doesnt use VTX tables and i havent set one. Since i am a noob and this is my first drone i have a lot to learn. I understand now that i need googles. I was going to buy the Google X but not right now. Thank you all for reply
