Podracer build oscillating into the sky
#1
I had a good build with the source podracer using the JHEMCU UPDATED GHF411 PRO AIO but every time I landed slightly too hard it would fry the entire board so I went with the HAKRC F722 2-6S AIO instead because it had an mpu 6000 and now it's back to flying away due to oscillations. I have 2 1000uf capacitors soldered directly to the board with 20 gauge wire with less than 3cm of wire on each. I had the same problem with the JHEMCU, but just 1 capacitor was enough to fix it and it flew well until I fried every board I had.

do you get runaway protection?

check the rigidity of your arms, delaminated carbon can cause that

I don't get runaway protection activating, I've been manually disarming because of how fast it goes up.

Look for shorts on the AIO board. Something must be causing the motors to spin at wild and the FC is unable to detect a runaway.

I turned the maximum motor power down to 85% and did a test flight with rolls flips and full throttle ramp ups and there is definetly lots of noise, but it goes crazy on the last ramp up

I have PodRacer frame. Its good and stiff.
90% its the PID causing this.
Try low safe values like P20 I20 D10.
