Google did something with their licensing and so probably has locked down their servers to unregistered attempts to use their API is all. This has effected several applications I have for outdoors stuff, but luckily those made it easy to switch to another map providing source.

The location map hasn't been working for a long time so most of the infornation on it will likely now be stale and not a lot of use anyway. While it could be useful for hooking up with local pilots, I think you'll find that there are a limited number of people who are happy to publish their exact location. Most members don't even put location information in their profile.

As a work around until we find a solution: reply to the thread with your location, so people nearby can PM and arrange meetups.

I really like this idea. I Wish it was still working. I'm in Mesa, AZ. I would love to find other pilots to fly with. As it is right now I'm driving out to remote areas where there are no people so I can fly safely. I will fly in a park occassionally but as soon as anybody shows up I pack up and leave.
