0 I'm building a 180 mini quad. I have 2 options on motors as i already have them.
Cobra 2204 2300kv and DyS 1806 2300kv. I will be using 4 inch triblades.
Will the lighter dys motors wok better or shall i go with cobras?

1 If it's heavy the torque of the 2204's would be nice. If it's light the lower rotational inertia 1806s would make things pretty snappy but you won't have quite the top speed.

5 I think the 1806 actually weighs almost a gram more than the 2204 you have. Either way, 2300kv is too slow for 4". You want at least 2600kv and up to 3000kv.
I love to share and help people! Flying Mini Quad is the best!

5 I've got 2 180mm mini quads, an H and a X both flying DAL 4045BN . My H has the 2300kv cobras and the X has the 1806 2300kv DYS.
On the H i have a gopro session with an AUW of 610gr. The X has an AUW of 470gr without gopro. Both are very good, altough i think the X will fly not that good if i add the gopro. I got the X 2nd hand and will probably stay my spare build or for trying new things.
But i also have been thinking swapping the cobras to emax, and swapping the DYS with the cobras. (moving cobras to the X frame) Selling the DYS in this case. Also using the Dal props on DYS motors doesn't give me a lot of tread to put the nuts on.
When the frame is light, the DYS motors are great, better than expected. If you're planning to add an HD cam on top, go for cobra.
