Yes, and I have control in smart audio, but the settings won’t “save” / change even when I change them in bataflight… I just need to check the manufacture site.
Well Google has surfaced quite a few “issues” with this vtx to include a flawed tramp protocol.. apparently I need to try using it on a “soft serial” set up…
Yup, “I’m gonna learn something today…”

Lots of VTX manufacturers have reverse engineered the IRC Tramp or TBS Smart Audio protocols and implemented them in an inconsistent way. This is probably why you are unable to save the settings via Smart Audio.

Does it save settings if you use the button menu?

This is gonna sound crazy, buth did you try both protocols: Tramp and SmartAudio?
I have had VTXs that say they are one protocol, don't work on that protocol, but
do work on the other one. Just a thought.  Thinking

No, but I will try anything once… we’ll ALMOST anything ..
I may just “set it and forget it”…honestly .. I don’t change things much .. I pretty much fly by myself

Have you ever had “one of those days…”. You just can’t get anything right!?!?
This build electronics has been nothing but trouble.. I believe it all stemmed from the Flight Controller. Possibly from me loading the wrong firmware…. Who knows .. what I do know is I first had issues with a BRAND NEW TBS nano rx..the vtx issue I believe a uart issue..
I did the hover test, no issues, today I correct esc the vtx issue (uart), plugged in, no video signal, or osd, just dark grey…installed another vtx, same..
Installed another fc (bench test) got video, and osd…so I go to install another 20x20 fc… MAGIC SMOKE….
I went online.. found another fc… and walked away from my bench…

I think the Speedybee tx800 is the most durable analog vtx I’ve ever used, just make sure to zip tie your antenna wire to a standoff to give the mmcx connector some strain relief.
Dangerous operations.

Disclaimer: I don’t know wtf I’m talking about.
I wish I could get the smell of burnt electronics out of my nose.

Had to rotate the fc 180 and the vtx 90 to make things fit and have clearance..everything is wired.. got video, AND the nano is lit.. gonna take this as a win, step away and think about mounting the rx and antenna..
I am SO GLAD I got these m2 to m3 adapters.. the speedy bee came with only the pigtail and antenna no gummies or anything for mounting..
I will most likely break off the 30x30 mounts the fc is “OK”,as basic as they come 2 uarts and the breakout pads are few and only one per uart.. so if u lift a pad u kinda screwed.. also no motor pads only the plug..so if I wanted to remove the plug for clearance and use pads I couldn’t..I can understand “the basic” if the price reflected .. but the ESCs and fc prices are crazy!

I am VERY HAPPY with the way this rig came out… so much so I may try to locate another frame and take tbs 20x20 stack out of my “Weemix”..
Few it on stock pids, rates, filters.. I did use bidirectional, and updated the ESCs .. smooth, no hot motors.. flew like it was on rails… it doesn’t have the “fling” like a 5”.. but they are like flying s truck..
I can easily see me moving to this size quad.. as long as 20x20 ESCs hold up.. they are only rated for 4s .. but 250g on 6s seems a little overkill.. but you never know..
Here is a pic of it next to my source one..

I feel like there is a tree branch out there with this JST cable's name on it.  Big Grin   I'd tuck that in between the boards.

I did tuck them in.. and actually thought of direct soldering since the break out pads to the vtx are directly under that plug. But until I get this bird dialed in.. I’ll leave the plug with the wires tucked. Being able to just unplug the vtx while configuring the motors was nice.

Hi Rob,

I think that it will be ok. The props will chop off any tree branches or at least deflect.

Got to fly in a open GRASSY area… this little thing is a blast.. though I am thinking thigs over.. the full-size ratel is a great camera but I can’t get enough “uptilt”.. thinking of going to the baby ratel..
What are ur thoughts on the 2400kv motors on 4s, they don’t get hot, and seem to have plenty of power..what could I expect if I went to maybe 3600 or 5000kv ?
What REALY sucks is that this frame is only available on alisxpress / Banggood, AND it will only “fit” a 20x20 stack… I played with fitting a 30x30 (because I have them) into this frame.. I think I could do it fairly easy ( relocate the middle standoffs..
At just at 250g this is a blast, doesn’t sound like a weed eater over ur head and handles real well.
I looked online and only ONE 4” frame is available with the option of a 30x30 stack fitting.. but it’s $80 and a true X style..This AlfaRC fighter175 is $22…
Any thoughts?
