OSD shifted right with Avatar V2 VTX and BF 4.4.2
#1
Despite having my OSD settings correct for HD video, items that should be at the upper-left in my goggles appear shifted down and to the right:

Above, I've got the output of my goggles connected to a monitor (if I look in the goggles, I see the same layout as on the monitor - there's no discrepancy between the two). In BF Configurator, the CRAFT_NAME element is at the absolute upper-left but in the goggles, it appears down and to the right of this position.

Here are my settings:

Code:
# serial
serial 0 131073 115200 57600 0 115200

# master
set osd_craft_name_pos = 2048
set osd_displayport_device = MSP
set vcd_video_system = HD

I do not have osd_canvas_width or osd_canvas_height set (but I did try setting them - while this changed the size of the screen displayed in BF Configurator, it didn't change the point on the screen that's treated as upper-left).

I know that BF 4.3 didn't really support HD setups and there were various tricks (like FakeHD) to let you layout things when using a pair of HD goggles but I thought with 4.4 things should work as expected.

I've attached a full backup of my settings in case you think I might have missed something.

The firmware on the VTX and the goggles is the latest available - 33.39.10 - and the VTX is the normal V2 version (i.e. not the mini or anything unusual).

It turns out that it's the goggles/VTX that are offsetting things. These are brand new goggles (ditto the VTX) with the factory default settings and for some reason, the default is to shift the OSD right and down:

It may not be clear but if you look at the image full size, you'll see the red dotted outline showing that the OSD is offset right and down.

To pull it up into a more obvious location, go to Settings / Display / OSD Position and move the corner of the red outline to the upper-left.

Surprisingly (to me), this setting is only available if the VTX is powered up and connected to the goggles, i.e. I guess the location of OSD elements relative to the video image is determined by the VTX (rather than being determined later when everything is received by the goggles).

Yeah, mine always starts shifted to the right, but not downwards as well. Not sure why it's like that, but at least it's a quick fix.

If you run the non-HD OSD it is pretty much centered in the goggles, but the HD OSD has a much larger canvas so basically you are seeing the upper left corner of it. You need to adjust the OSD position in the goggles setting to push it back to center, but the stupid thing is this setting is only saved to the goggles and not to the VTX, so if you switch back and forth between setups with HD and non-HD, one of them will be off or you will have to readjust each time.
If you do need to have both HD and non-HD, a possible work around is to leave the goggles, non-HD OSD at defaults, and move all the HD OSD elements to the upper left corner.
