I dont get it, if they would play their cards right they would have 600 hyped ambassadors for their goggle/brand posting on social media and forums but now they have 600 angry backers. The PR is so wrong on so many levels that I would be more surprised if everything was ok rather than delay/lawsuit. Well, I sure felt that way when I woke up today. But after hearing from someone over at Orqa Owners Lounge who never posted before (Goran Gigatron) reply to my post sounding like he knew some "inside" info, and then after Ivan's latest reply to someone asking about refunds - I'm not as worried. I will hold my breath until today's update comes out... Edit: it is all getting a bit ridiculous though Posts: 536 Threads: 19 Likes Received: 261 in 173 posts Likes Given: 168 Joined: Sep 2018 Reputation: 10 (06-Nov-2019, 01:16 PM)sloscotty Wrote: Well, I sure felt that way when I woke up today. Hopefully these guys can execute because if they delay a lot longer, they could destroy their entire brand before it gets off the ground. Even if their product is awesome. I can't wait to see what actually gets released. What's the issue now, release/shipping delays and simply where the hell are they? Have my fingers crossed for you guys and ORQA. • Posts: 2,416 Threads: 51 Likes Received: 1,861 in 1,175 posts Likes Given: 3,315 Joined: Mar 2016 Reputation: 74 06-Nov-2019, 08:39 PM (This post was last modified: 06-Nov-2019, 08:58 PM by sloscotty.) Less than 7 days to go (for me anyway). I am backer #29. Here's the latest, and sounds like last update from Orqa: Quote:Dear Backers, Happy to update you that our manufacturing and assembly is going as planned and without any issues. Our time to assemble a finish product is dropping significantly while are assembly guys are becoming more skilled with the procedure and process. We took a bit more time than we originally planned to make sure that our QC and QA are in place and up to Orqa standard. Two finished units are with our internal testers for a week now. They are crushing and bending the product from every single angle, searching for failure points with hardware and software. So far - not a single critical flaw was detected. Small improvements are constantly being made on the firmware side. This is never ending process, having in mind that we have a full computer on board and that the goggles will become smarter and smarter with every update. Moreover, we are realigning our marketing narrative and soon starting with big campaign: #canyourgogglesdothis ,where we will present a lot of new features that we have been working on in the background. It is game on with our direct competitor - and I bet you - I know the winner already. Keep your eyes open on our Social Media channels. We are on the schedule to ship 100+ units to our first backers on Kickstarter in next 7 days. We will be getting in touch with some of you to validate certain information and pledge. Also, the rest of the units should be shipped very shortly after since our capacity is sufficient. Please, rest assured that you made the right choice of believing and investing in Orqa products. Once again, I am thankful for all the patience and support I am receiving on daily basis from most of you. PS: The next big update we will share will be: We shipped all the units. Till then, please respect our decision to deep dive into manufacturing and stay away from being tagged 100+ times a day. PPS: We are not shipping units to reviewers before we ship our backers. I want this to be very clear to everyone. Thanks people! I just had a great idea You and Andreas could start a collaboration where each week you can take it in turns to do a forum live-stream event of your flights If you have the technology then no point in it going unused Posts: 181 Threads: 3 Likes Received: 39 in 35 posts Likes Given: 38 Joined: Oct 2019 Reputation: 3 (07-Nov-2019, 02:12 AM)sloscotty Wrote: FPV.One can live-stream your flight. (BTW, the module is optional - so you don't have to use it.) I'm not to fond of microwave transmission Bluetooth or Wifi, blasting out of close proximity of my melon, which is why I use speaker phone or hands free to make calls, and text when possible. I for one would not use this feature and not a fan of the goggle outbound transmission trend that is happening. A goggle that live streams? Why would anyone want a WiFi hotspot running in the middle of their trip in the first place? • |
