One wire passthrough blheli/cleanflight
#1
Hello, I´m having a weird issue trying to flash my ESC through the cleanflight method in BLHELI.

My setup is :
Naze32 rev 6 running newest version of betaflight
Littlebee 20a esc´s (they have blheli bootloader/firmware)

I also use the latest version of BLHELI . when trying to connect in BLHELI the first to ESC show up and I am able to flash them. number 3 and 4 sometimes show up, and sometimes only one of them shows up and sometimes they are marked with a "U" and BLHELI says they are flashed with wrong software or something. when they show up and I try to flash either one of them the "no connection to ESC" message appears and BLHELI tells me to supply them with power.

Anyone else experienced this erratic behavior?
Any suggestions is appreciated , thanks.

Ohh, forgot to mention that all motors are spinning and working correctly in the motor test feature of both blheli and cleanflight.

You're probably doing this, but I just want to check - Your flight battery must be connected when flashing through the FC.

I should add: You shouldn't have cleanflight itself connected when connecting with BLHeli.

Yes, battery is connected and not cleanflight, as i said ESC one and two always show up and I´m able to flash them. the problem is with ESC three and four. but thanks anyway. Smile

If your ESCs are not soldered to the flight controller, you might try swapping ESC 1 or 2 for 3 or 4.  Even if they are soldered, it might be worth it to rule out problems with the FC - just a suggestion.

I just had another thought.  I am using the same ESC's and connected both signal and ground to my FC (Flip32 - Naze clone sortof).  I know grounding can cause some weird issues sometimes.  (The weird issue I had was running a ground between my PDB and FC and it caused all kinds of erratic behavior.)  If you haven't connected your ESC grounds to the FC, you might try one.

I tried your suggestions but without luck, so i ended up flashing and configuring them with my arduino uno instead. I also have another quad with same esc's that is suffering from the same symptoms. Guess the problem Lies in naze or blheli or blhelis support for littlebees esc's. Unless someone with similar experience has found å way to make it work. Anyhow, tanks for your help and suggestions.

Sorry it's not working  Sad

Just found this over on RCGroups: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2606074

It probably doesn't apply to you, but looks like the blheli pass-though code changed recently affecting cleanflight (and betaflight).  The newer versions only work with BLHeliSuiteBeta (as of April 18 anyway - may have changed again by now).  Good luck!
