No OSD Info HDO2 w RapdFire
#1
Hello Helpful Friends,

I've taken the leap to building my first quad (I own a prebuild, but this is the first that I'm building myself), and I'm having issues with the OSD.

The quad is the Tyro 119 and I'm following the JB instructional series, but I can't seem to get any OSD data whatsoever.

I'm using the Fatshark HDO2 with RapidFire module, and I've been using this same goggle setup for my prebuild. The Prebuild has no problem displaying the battery level and other OSD info, but I can't get anything on this one.

I do have perfect camera feed from the drone to the goggles, but I've tried adjusting the OSD position and the OSD options in the goggles themselves, but I'm not getting any information. This being my first quad to have GPS, it'd be really nice to have that info displayed, but what I really *need* is battery voltage so that I know when to bring it home during flight.

As always, your help is appreciated beyond what I can express here.

Thanks as always  Rolleyes

In the OSD tab in Betaflight Configurator, make sure you explicitly set the video format to be either PAL or NTSC (whichever one your camera is outputting). Don't use the AUTO option because that sometimes causes the OSD to not be displayed.

Shoot... you beat me here.
So I don't know what it was, but I unplugged the drone, then replugged it in, and now I have a new problem. The exact opposite of what was happening before. I now have no camera feed, but I DO have the OSD info.
Now I have to solve that...

(For what it's worth, I didn't actually change anything; I just unplugged and replugged.)

Edit... Oh WTF... I unplugged and replugged again and now I've lost the OSD info but I have the camera feed. It's either one or the other... what in the hell?

Do what I said regarding the video format anyway. You never want to use the AUTO format because it's not always reliable. Also, power everything off (quad and goggles) then power the quad up FIRST and then power up the goggles SECOND. See if that changes anything.

You got it. I had tried switching from Auto to NPSC and to PAL, but didn't change anything.

I'll try powering everything off, powering the quad up, and then powering the goggles and report back in a moment.

No luck.

Powered everything off.
Powered the quad on.
Turned on goggles.

Only getting the camera view with no OSD.

Nice one. 9 times out of 10 that's usually what the issue is with missing OSD. So you now also know you have a PAL camera in your quad Smile
