New Build Question
#1
So before I knew anything about what I wanted to do with building my first quad I ordered a bunch of parts for my first build. It was going to be a Armattan Marmotte with a T-Motor F7 flight controller and T-Motor F45 ESC. Fast forward to today and now I have switched over to DJI and I bought a ShenDrone Squirt frame. There are no recommended parts for the build and a few of the videos on YouTube I have watched have mentioned other ESC / FC setups but can I use the T-Motor gear I already have??? The Squirt is a 3 inch prop version and the Marmotte is a 5 inch quad.

Thanks, as usual. Without this forum I would have given up on flying a long time ago.

As long as there is physically space in the frame you can install any flight electronics you want. I guess the FC and ESC use 30.5x30.5 mounting holes so the frame will need the same, unless you have vertical space available to fit 20x20 to 30.5x30.5 adapters.

You can use the parts you bought as long as they can fit in the Squirt frame. Might be tight with 30x30mm FC /ESC and DJI Air Unit. Most 3" cinewhoop build or BNF models use 20x20mm stack. I had a Squirt V2 for a while before the Squirt V2.1 came out for DJI Air Unit.

Looking at the bottom plate in this pic, I think it will fit as long as you get the taller stand off as the Dji Air Unit is mounted vertically.

Just a note:

You can always increase the space between the top and bottom plates  by using longer stand off columns and/or longer bolts. Although the standard seems to be 20mm columns, you can get other sizes. Interesting that the longer stand offs are generally only threaded on the ends, but the 10mm and small have threads all the way through. I always have extra 30mm, 10mm, 5mm, and 2mm length standoffs. Of course, you could just use longer bolts and a bunch of washers {yeah I also have an assortment of washers in both stainless steel and nylon}.

Just in case I need something really special, I have 2mm ID (1mm wall) brass tubes that can be cut to length.   Dodgy
