Network Remote ID is Coming

The Amazon Kindle I bought back in 2010 had no cost cell service built in for downloading content. But of course that's built on expected purchases with the device even though you could still side load any books you wanted.

Probably the same with the SatNav devices. Most of them come with live traffic updates and other services that are generally sold as annual service subscriptions, but the one I bought back then was sold at a one-off cost with lifetime services included, so it doesn't incur any additional ongoing service subscription fees. I opened my TomTom up a couple of years ago due to a battery connection issue and there is actually a physical SIM card slot on the mainboard with a SIM card in it which is only accessible if you crack open the device, so it's designed to remain in the device permanently.
