MotoLab Tempest F4 V1.0 with X4R SB
#1
Hello!

I'm starting a new build and I have some problem to wire the X4R SB (no pin) with the MotoLab Tempest F4 V1.0.

I read this:
https://oscarliang.com/betaflight-soft-s...-smartport
and this:
https://oscarliang.com/uninverted-sbus-s...receivers/

My english is not so good and I'm a little bit lost here..

This what I did:
Red: V
Black: GND
Yellow: 5R
Bleu: 4T

and this is how is the FC:

So far, I cant bind the X4R to my Taranis X7.
I have no OSD on screen.

I wondering if someone can help me with that please?
I don't find a lot of info with this FC.

Thank you all!

Since this FC has inverted circuit for both sbus and S. Port, you don't need the hack s. Port. So blue wire is incorrect. You just need normal s. Port signal from the RX. The red, black and yellow wire are correct.

First thing you need to do is bind to qx7. Watch a YouTube video. Basically get TX into bind mode and hold down bind button on RX and plug in battery. Get out of bind mode, unplug and plug battery back in. Green light in RX means you bound.

OSD is a different issue, why don't we work on one issue at a time?

Thank you very much! I’ll test asap. What about the BF setup? Uart5 >> sbus or frsky?

Under configuration tab, receiver serial based rx. Sbus protocol.
Under port tab. Uart 5 toggle the serial rx.

You will setup like the directions for F3 because your FC has inverter circuit for both sbus and S. Port.

Thank you for your time

Are you referring to the S. Port wire? You need to wire S. Port telemetry and get that working first. So, non-hack S. Port to 4T on FC. Makes sure you config BFC.

The pin mark S.port on the side of the receiver needs to be wire to 4T on FC.

In BFC, configuration tab, turn on telemetry feature.
On port tab, UART4, select S. Port telemetry in pull down menu.

Thank you very much.
I did it but still not working.
Maybe it's beacause my X4R SB (no pins) is EU LBT?

Turn off RSSI_ADC
Select disable for RSSI channel

Are you getting other telemetry on your TX? We need to make sure other telemetry is working before we can mess with RSSI.
